SCRIPT

Recruiter: Good morning po ate/kuya/ma’am/sir, we are second-year psychology students from


Saint Louis University and we are conducting a study on Memory Retention. May we ask to take a
little bit of your time?

If the potential participant’s response is NO: Alright, thank you. Have a blessed day ahead!

If the potential participant’s response is YES: Thank you for helping us out. We will now show
you to our lab room and there we will be discussing the details of what you will be participating
in. (Assist the participant into the lab room)

Member 1: We are now in the lab room and these are my fellow experimenters, (proceed to
introduce groupmates). Before we begin, may we ask if it is okay to take pictures? Don't worry,
these pictures will be kept confidential and will be used for research purposes only.

If the potential participant’s response is NO: Alright, we will take note of that. May we proceed?

If the potential participant’s response is YES: Thank you, your identity will be kept confidential. If
you, however, feel uncomfortable, please don't hesitate to tell us. We will stop taking pictures
immediately. Shall we proceed?

Member 2: Okay, For starters, I'm going to flash words here (Point to the Gadget) and you will be
given a minute to memorize all the given words. Then after which you will be given a pen and
paper to list down all the words that you [Link] you ready? If not we could give you a
minute to prepare yourself. (Wait for the participants response)

Member 2: (Flashes the words) Okay, your Time Starts now

Member 3: (will give the verbal pressure) 45 seconds, 30 seconds, 15 seconds, 10,9,8,7,6 “ready na
po ba kayo?” 5,4,3,2,1

Member 2: Okay times up, (give the pen and paper) you will be given 1 minute to write down all
the words you remembered. Areyou ready?(wait for the participants' response) Okay, your time
starts now.

Member 2: Times up, that concludes our experiment, thank you for participating.

Member 1: Thank you so much for giving us your time and for helping us acquire the data that we
need for the study. Here is a small token of appreciation. Also, let us know if you wish to be
informed of the results of the study. (If the participant says yes, get contact information).
