I. Introduction
The Republic of Poland is aware that the human race is experiencing a turning point. Our world
is not sending soft signals anymore; it is asking for urgent aid. Wildfires, floods, increasing
temperatures, and extinction of species are some of the issues on the table. They are no longer
threats far away. They impinge on the present and future of people. Poland, which is a country
that appreciates not only the growth of the industry but also the beauty of nature—from the coal
district of Silesia to the Białowieża forests—this is a chance of tipping the scales of progress
towards responsibility. Poland considers the fight against climate change as an investment for
our survival, not a sacrifice.
II. National Context and Challenges
Poland has had excellent economic growth over the past twenty years, but this march of
progress has come at the expense of nature. Our addiction to coal, the pollution of cities and
cutting down of forests have unleashed major sustainability problems. Nevertheless, Poland
does not evade her duty. The government has pledged its allegiance to the European Green
Deal. We Plant Technique will be used for most of our electricity production, Public
transportation will be more environmentally friendly, reforestation projects will be conducted. A
capital city like Warsaw, therefore, has a vital role to play to achieve this transformation. It is not
enough that the transition to sustainable energy sources is beneficial to the environment, but it
should also take care of the workers in the traditional energy sector.
III. International Cooperation and Commitments
Poland is committed to open and constructive dialogue in environmental management issues.
Through membership in the European Union and full engagement in the Paris Agreement,
Poland emphasizes the joint responsibilities and innovations that come with it. Our nation
organized COP24 in Katowice, which highlighted the concept of "Just Transition." Presently,
Poland is among those who push this topic on a global scale. The idea leads us to the point that
transition for sustainability should not create any losers among workers, families, or countries.
In addition, Poland argues that the environment should be the core of global peace and
international governance. The destruction of the environment often results in the displacement
of people and the scarcity of resources, leading to conflicts and instability. Therefore,
discussions about international security must also consider environmental issues.
IV. Proposed Solutions and Vision
Poland proposes a new epoch of interlinked environmental management worldwide supported
by three mainstays:
Collaboration for Innovation: The UN should launch a Global Green Innovation Forum to provide
developing nations with access to green technology and best practices for sustainability.
Equity Having Accountability: Make a Global Environmental Responsibility Index that evaluates
nations' environmental actions depending on their capabilities rather than simply ranking them.
Adaptation for everyone: Set up a Just Transition Fund to support people and places that are
affected by the change to green industries and are taking the transition at their own pace.
Poland expects the future in which development coexists with sustainability. The country and
the people want to live in such a world that the air, rivers, and lands that are familiar to them
would not become something that burdens their successors.
V. Conclusion
The Republic of Poland is convinced that the time for going it alone on the planet is over. Nature
problems do not follow borders, and neither should our pledge. The only way to have a planet
that will sustain the lives of the generations after us is through genuine cooperation, fair
transitions, and people-centered governance. Poland will be at the forefront, she will be listening
and she will be taking action because the fight for our planet is a fight for our common humanity.
