NARRATIVE REPORT
IPED DAY 2025
The Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED) Day was successfully celebrated on December 16,2025 at Nama
Elementary School, with the theme “Preserving Culture through Indigenous Games (Laro ng Lahi)”. The activity
aimed to promote awareness, appreciation, and respect for indigenous culture while strengthening learners’ values,
cooperation, and physical skills through traditional Filipino games.
The program formally opened with an invocation followed by a short message from our school Principal IV sir
Policarpio N. Rivera, emphasizing the importance of preserving indigenous traditions and integrating them into the
learning process. Learners, teachers, and parents actively participated in the celebration, showing enthusiasm and cultural
pride.
One of the highlights of the event was the conduct of Laro ng Lahi, such as [patintero, tumbang preso, sipa,
kadang-kadang, or other indigenous games]. These games were facilitated by teachers and student leaders who
explained the rules, cultural significance, and values embedded in each activity. Learners participated joyfully,
demonstrating teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The activity also served as an avenue for experiential learning, where learners were able to understand how
indigenous games reflect the lifestyle, creativity, and unity of early Filipino communities. Observations showed that the
learners were highly engaged and eager to learn, while also developing respect for indigenous knowledge and practices.
The IPED Day celebration concluded with a simple reflection activity, where learners shared their experiences
and insights. Many expressed appreciation for indigenous culture and the importance of preserving traditional games for
future generations.
Overall, the IPED Day featuring Laro ng Lahi was a meaningful and successful activity that strengthened
cultural awareness, learner participation, and community involvement. The school looks forward to conducting more
culturally responsive activities that support inclusive education and the preservation of indigenous heritage.
After the game we serve snacks (burger and juice) to all who participated the games.
