SCENE 1 – REALITY
LOCATION: TOWNSHIP STREET – 5pm late afternnoon
Street vendors packing up. Kids playing soccer barefoot. A kombi drives past blasting music.
The MAN leans against a wall. He watches the WOMAN laughing with her friends across the street.
She doesn’t see him watching.
Close-up: His face — not lust. Admiration. Hope.
She says goodbye to her friends and carries on to walk to a woman selling vegetables. She buys a bunch
and then turns to walk in the direction on the man.
He freezes as she gets closer and closer.
He keeps looking at her , when she sees him looking at her she just smiles, looks away and keeps
walking.
She walks past him and his eyes follow
He stays behind, looking in her direction until she turns a corner and goes out of sight.
He smiles and turns to walk away in the opposite direction
SCENE 2 – HIS ROOM
INT. SMALL RENTED ROOM – NIGHT
Single bed. Studio mic in the corner. Lyrics scribbled on a notepad
He sits at the edge of the bed, replaying the moment in his head
He stares at the ceiling. He yawns.
He closes his eyes and slowly falls into a deep sleep with the lyrics notepad in hand.
SCENE 3 – DREAM BEGINS
EXT. CITY ROOFTOP – SUNSET (DREAM)
Golden sky over the skyline.
She stands on the rooftop in a simple but elegant dress — urban but classy.
Wind moving her hair.
He walks toward her wearing a clean fitted suit, confident, successful.
No struggle in his posture anymore.
She smiles like she’s always belonged beside him.
SCENE 3 – DREAM BEGINS
EXT. TOWNSHIP FOOTBALL GROUND – SUNSET (DREAM)
The same township — but it feels calmer. Almost glowing.
Kids playing soccer in the background.
Music coming from a small speaker.
The WOMAN stands near the touchline wearing a simple but beautiful dress. Nothing expensive
— just neat and elegant.
The wind moves softly through her hair.
The MAN walks toward her.
But now he looks put together.
Clean sneakers. Fresh jacket. Confidence in his walk.
No stress on his face.
She smiles when she sees him.
Like she has always known him.
They start walking together along the edge of the football field.
He performs the chorus while walking beside her.
Kids run past them chasing a ball.
Life feels light.
Hopeful.
SCENE 4 – DREAM GROWS
EXT. TOWNSHIP STREET – EVENING (DREAM)
Same street from Scene 1.
But now it feels alive.
People sitting outside tuckshops.
A small crowd gathered.
The MAN is performing his song.
No big stage.
Just a speaker, a mic, and people vibing.
Kids dancing.
Guys nodding to the beat.
Women laughing.
The WOMAN stands in the crowd watching him.
Proud.
He looks at her while singing.
Their eyes lock.
For a moment it feels like everything worked out.
SCENE 5 – DREAM BREAKS
EXT. STREET – NIGHT
The music starts to echo strangely.
The crowd movement slows.
The WOMAN begins walking away from the crowd.
He notices.
He stops singing.
He calls after her but we don’t hear the words.
She keeps walking.
Slowly fading into the darkness of the street.
Street lights flicker.
The crowd disappears.
Everything goes quiet.
CUT.
SCENE 6 – WAKE UP
INT. SMALL RENTED ROOM – MORNING
Sunlight through the window.
The MAN wakes up suddenly.
He looks around.
Same small room.
Same cracked walls.
Same microphone in the corner.
Same notebook in his hand.
For a second he looks disappointed.
Then he opens the notebook.
Reads the lyrics again.
He nods slowly.
Like he understands something now.
SCENE 7 – BACK TO REALITY
EXT. TOWNSHIP STREET – MORNING
Same street as Scene 1.
But now it's morning life.
Women sweeping yards.
A kombi conductor shouting routes.
Kids in school uniform walking past.
The MAN walks with his headphones on.
Listening to the song he recorded.
Across the street —
He sees the WOMAN again.
She is buying vegetables.
Just like before.
This time when she notices him looking…
She smiles again.
He hesitates.
Then gathers courage.
He walks toward her.
They stand face to face.
A quiet moment.
He smiles.
She smiles back.
FADE OUT.
