VII. SUGGESTED MICRO PROJECT / ASSIGNMENT/ ACTIVITIES FOR SPECIFIC

LEARNING / SKILLS DEVELOPMENT (SELF LEARNING)

Micro project
The microproject has to be industry application based, internet-based, workshop-based, laboratory-based or
field-based as suggested by Teacher
1. Currency Converter: A web-based interface for converting currency and getting the output value, for
example, here displays converting the currency of the US dollar to INR.
2. Simple Banking System: Develop a basic banking system that allows users to create accounts, deposit,
withdraw, and check balances. Each user account can be an object.
3. Library Catalog: Build a library catalog system where users can add books, search for books by title
or author, and check book availability. Each book can be an object.

AN, CO, IT Page| 4 GPCSN

7R604 OOP Using JAVA

4. Simple Calculator: Create a basic calculator that can perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and
division operations. Each operation can be implemented as a separate class.
5. Student Management System: Design a student management system where you can add, delete, and
update student records. Each student’s information can be stored as an object.
6. Weather Information: Develop a simple weather application that fetches weather data from an API
and displays it to the user. You can represent weather data as objects.
7. Inventory Tracker: Create an inventory tracking system for a small store. Each product in the
inventory can be represented as an object with attributes like name, price, and quantity.
8. Online Quiz Application: Build an online quiz application where users can answer questions, get
scores, and see their progress. You can use objects to represent quizzes and questions.
9. Address Book: Develop a digital address book where users can add, update, and delete contact
information. Each contact can be represented as an object.
10. Grading System in Java: This project built using Java is an important one to grade students based on
their markings. It is the best project to start for beginners and has a GUI (Graphical User Interface)
design.
11. Personal Diary: Build a personal diary application that lets users write, edit, and save diary entries.
Each diary entry can be an object.
12. Develop mini-ATM machine system. It should accept account_no, account_holder_name,
account_balance and perform operations such as withdrawal, Deposit and balance check.
13. Energy Billing System: Expected to develop bill amount module based on usage of energy
consumption.
Any other micro project as suggested by course teacher.

Assignment:
1. Solve an assignment on any relevant topic given by the teacher
2. Take input from the user and display the sum of two numbers.
3. Take input from the user and display the sum of two number
4. Use multithreading to print odd and even numbers using two threads.
5. Create a GUI-based calculator using Swing.
6. Implement a program to count vowels and consonants in a string.

Activities for specific learning:

1. Complete any one course related to JAVA programming on Infosys Springboard
2. Develop JAVA code for relevant topics suggested by the teacher.
3. Ask students to create mind maps of Java concepts like data types, OOP principles, or exception
handling.
4. Prepare a chart to create mind maps of Java concepts like data types, OOP principles, or exception
handling.
5. Prepare a model a real-world system using classes and objects (e.g., Library, Bank, School).
6. Use platforms like: HackerRank,CodeChef ,LeetCode

Note for Teacher: The marks distribution for self-learning activities should be decided by the teacher based on
the nature and quality of Micro-projects, Assignments, and/or other self-learning tasks.
