Set correct Screen resolution to 1920*xxxx
• Needed, respectively best view is
with using native screen
resolution of
1920 * 1080.
• Set to highest resolution
• Colour quality is 32 bit.
Configure
Firewalls &
Virusscanners
General problem
• Firewalls and some Virusscanner which have an own Firewall block
„Internet“ traffic per default.
• This might be good to protect from the world but it is not wished to
communicate between the Computer and the Cameras etc.
• Therefore settings must be eventually added by hand to allow our
machine internal traffic to go through without any restriction.
• Windows 7 / 8 is more restrictive than Windows XP!
Firewall settings for Placer (here Win7/8)
Same
message
might pop up
from
virusscanner
as well!
Allow full access for Placer
Beside placer, also INCOServer
needs to have full access !!
Virusscanner with Firewall
• Either disable network traffic control
• Or add an exception (add a rule) to network control:
Define the rule:
Allow ALL traffic,
Add a rule… in BOTH directions,
WITHOUT any alarm
…to let through all traffic on all
used internal IP adresses.
Open for whole subnet (0..255)
Configure
LAN
Set Network card Ip addresses
• 2 or more Ethernet network connectors are installed on the PC
• The network connector of the Motherboard is for the normal local
area network (Lan). This configuration remains default ( activated
DHCP ), nothing to do here.
• Disconnect this LAN for the moment. ( until all other networks are
configured and working )
View of Control panel / Network connection:
Identify and rename Camera network
• By plug in / out the network cable, identify which connection is for
top camera.
• Rename the corresponding Lan to „TopCamera“
Configure
Top
CAMERA
Install Top Camera
• Connect top camera to computer. ( Make sure machine has power,
else camera has no power neither )
• Launch “Baumer_GigE_IpConfig.exe”.
Normal path is
D:\Tools\Camera\Baumer\ExtraTool\IPConfig\IPConfig\Baumer_Gig
E_IpConfig.exe
Tool should detect a Camera
• Per default the camera is running in DHCP. So it should be possible
to auto detect the camera the first time.
Change ip address on camera to [Link]
• Press button ForceIp ( see previous slide ) and select the camera
again.
• Enter static ip Address [Link].
• Enter Subnet mask [Link]
• press „Set“.
Change camera network ip address
• Now the camera is not running in
DHCP any more, so set manually
the static address on the
corresponding TopCamera
network properties.
1. 2. 3.
Camera is ready to use
• Power off /on camera. Verify with ping that the change of address
was ok. So camera should answer on [Link]
• Then the IpConfig tool will also show the camera with static address
Install Filter Driver for TopCamera
• Special filter driver is needed to run the
camera. If this error appears in Placer The Baumer filter driver is not installed or not
activated. Please install and activate the filter
then the filter driver is not installed. driver in the LAN settings of the Camera LAN
card
• Launch “bdrivermanager_x64.exe”
D:\Tools\Camera\Baumer\ExtraTool\FilterDriverWin64\bdrivermanag
er_x64.exe
as Administrator, select
Type: Filter Driver and press Install.
• So far the easiest is to install on
all Network adaptors.
• PC Reboot needed.
Configure Jumbo Frames
• Special Frames settings are needed
to run the camera. If this error appears The Jumbo frames of the Camera LAN
network adaptor are not acivated/set correctly.
in Placer then the Frames aren’t set. Please activate Jumbo frames with a frame
size of >= 7200.
• Open Network manager and select
Current frame size: 1200
Configure. Set the Jumbo Frames
to 16128
Security alerts
• Several programs do changes
on the firewall. Just set Unblock.
• ( Indel, Placer, Camera, etc. )
Troubleshoot Filter Driver badly installed
Win7: remove completely the old not working baumer driver:
First uninstall everything from Baumer. Call any uninstall
programs. Now there are some rests of the old driver in the
system, they need to be removed manually:
1. Check for old baumer drivers, call from command line:
[Link] -e
look up which of the listed [Link] is the baumer driver:
2. Delete all those drivers (1..4)
pnputil -d [Link]
3. Reboot the PC
4. Re-install the Baumer filter driver
-> RUN as Administrator! (And of course be also a user with Admin rights)
this: .\Programs\Camera\Baumer\ExtraTool\FilterDriverWin64\[Link]
5. Reboot the PC and check successfully installed Driver
- start .\Camera\Baumer\ExtraTool\BGAPI Viewer\[Link]
- System, initialize, select ...GigE, System , options, opens a new dialog
=> check that under GVS driver model: Filter is selected
Configure
Top or External
GigE - CAMERA
Setup Ethernet Top Camera
• Use IpConfig Tool like for top camera.
• Set IP of the Camera to [Link]
• (Make sure that network card itself has [Link])
• Make sure that filter driver are activated on that entry and that jumbo
packages are set as well.
• Same configuration has to be applied for the External eMis Camera,
( colour camera ).
