DEMO SCRIPT
I. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
Teacher:
“Good morning, Grade 4!”
“Let us begin with a short prayer.”
(Prayer)
Almighty God, guide us in our learning today. Bless my students with wisdom and
understanding, and help me to teach with patience and kindness. May our classroom be
a place of growth and respect. Amen.
“Please remain standing for a short warm-up exercise.”
(Lead: arm circles, bending, twisting, light jogging in place.)
“Why is warming up important before physical activities?”
(Expected answer: To prepare the body / To avoid injury.)
“Very good. You may now take your seats.”
(Check attendance.)
(Teacher giving rules:)
II. REVIEW (WITH CONNECTION TO NEW LESSON)
Teacher:
“Last meeting, we talked about physical activities that we can do with our family to stay
healthy.”
“Who can share one physical activity you enjoy the most with your family? Why?”
(Call 2–3 learners.)
“How does doing physical activities with your family make you feel?”
“When you are performing a physical activity, are you staying in one place or moving
from one place to another?”
(Allow responses.)
“Very good! All the activities you mentioned — like walking, running, dancing, and
playing catch — help improve our health.”
“Now class, let me ask you something.”
“When you are running with your family, are you staying in one place?”
(Expected answer: No.)
“That’s correct. You are moving from one place to another.”
“When you are playing catch, what are you doing with the ball?”
(Expected answer: Throwing and catching.)
“Very good! So when you run, throw, catch, bend, or stretch — you are using different
kinds of movements.”
“These movements are not just simple actions. They are called movement skills.”
“And today, we will learn the different types of movement skills that we use in games,
especially invasion games.”
III. ESTABLISHING THE PURPOSE (VIDEO WITH GUIDE QUESTIONS)
Teacher:
“To help us understand better, let us watch a short video.”
(Play video.)
After the video, ask the guide questions:
1. “What are the three types of movement skills shown in the video?”
(Locomotor, Non-locomotor, Manipulative)
2. “Which movement skill involves moving from one place to another?”
(Locomotor)
3. “Why is it important to learn different kinds of movement skills?”
(To play better, move properly, stay safe, work as a team.)
“Excellent answers! Today, we will identify and understand these three movement skills
and how they are used in invasion games.”
IV. DISCUSSION PROPER
Teacher:
“Let us now discuss the three types of movement skills.”
1. Locomotor Skills
“Locomotor skills are movements that allow us to move from one place to another.”
Examples:
Running
Dodging
Changing direction
“These skills help players move into space and avoid opponents.”
2. Manipulative Skills
“Manipulative skills involve controlling an object using the hands or feet.”
Examples:
Throwing
Catching
Passing
“These skills help players control the ball and work with teammates.
3. Non-Locomotor Skills
“Non-locomotor skills are movements done without moving from one place.”
Examples:
Bending
Swaying
Balancing
“These skills help improve balance and body control.”
Closing the Discussion
“So in invasion games, we use locomotor skills to move, manipulative skills to control
the ball, and non-locomotor skills to maintain balance.”
“That is why learning these movement skills is important before we play.”
