Individual Reflection

I have consume quite a lot works of art in various category as novel, music, film, camera, … and
the content or storytelling plays an important role in the work. And this project is an opportunity
for me to experience as an author to design character, world – building or make story plot.
During the storytelling progress, I realized that we kinda overused the objectives like ambitious,
charming, … though these personality fit in our characters, we should change that with
synonyms.
In the group, I’m the presenter (or I like to call myself as a storyteller). My role makes people
feel and enjoy or story, so I’m supposed to feel the character, understand their thinking, emotion,
relationship, … so as to transfer most of them to my audience. And in the progress of studying
them, I’m quite an impress with the word “Memorial Keeper”, or “Memokeeper” for short. It
impress me not only by the name but also the responsibility that role carries – which is conflict
with the character holding that position’s emotion. I have always be an audience, so I found it
challenge when my role change from a listener to a storyteller, to transmit all the characters’
feelings but also keep the audiences enjoy.
Though the world – building progress kinda easy with me cause my experience in fantasy genre,
but my main role isn’t make the world but transmit that to people. Because I just understand and
imagine the world for me but never describe it make my vocabulary in expressing kinda
challenging. I have already realized the important of vocabulary in both writing and
communication skill, but because of lack of conditions in communicate and also part of my
personality, I haven’t improve the communicating skill yet. So through out this project, I hope
the experience will upgrade my vocabulary for both writing and speaking skill.
