TOPIC 1

Parents should strictly limit teenagers’ screen time. Do you agree or disagree?
I strongly agree that parents should strictly limit teenagers’ screen time.
Firstly, teenagers often spend too much time watching online videos, checking social
media, or playing computer games. As a result, they have little time left for homework
and revision, which can negatively affect their academic performance.

Secondly, excessive screen time is harmful to teenagers’ health. Looking at screens for a
long time can damage their eyesight and reduce sleep time. Moreover, sitting in front of a
screen for hours every day may lead to weight gain and lack of physical exercise.

In conclusion, limiting screen time is necessary to help teenagers focus on studying and
maintain good health. Parents should guide their children to use electronic devices wisely
and in a balanced way.

TOPIC 2
Write an article (120–150 words) about advantages and disadvantages of living in a smart
city
Living in a smart city brings both advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, smart technologies make people’s lives easier by reducing household
chores. For example, smart devices can save time and energy. In addition, smart
technologies help the city operate more efficiently and reduce negative impacts on the
environment, such as pollution and waste.

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks. People may worry that their personal
information is not well protected. Without proper training, many people may find it
difficult to use modern technologies. Furthermore, privacy is limited because cameras are
installed everywhere in the city.

In short, although smart cities offer many benefits, their disadvantages should be
carefully considered.
