STORY WRITING
1)three friends- two geese, a tortoise—decide to migrate—food, water—geese fly—tortoise can’t—devise
a way—carry tortoise—hold stick—with their beaks—tortoise not to speak—held the middle of the stick—
children clap—tortoise angry—burst out-- fell
2)Tortoise and hare—argument—race—settle the argument—race started—hare ran fast—slept—tortoise
–slowly reached—won the race.
3)A miser - loses a purse - containing thousand rupees - promises reward of one hundred rupees -- purse
found by an honest farmer -returns it to the miser - claims the reward - miser’s trick -already taken your
reward - not to give - purse contained eleven hundred rupees - but now it is only thousand - went to a
court of law - Judge says to the miser - not yours - asks the farmer to keep the purse with him - till the real
owner comes - asks the miser to wait till a man comes with your purse. A miser - loses a purse - containing

4)Two notorious thieves- on the lookout for a prey- consider themselves very clever -enter a rich man’s
house-find the safe open – happy at their unexpected luck- pile up everything, gold, silver and money –
lights come on- man with a gun appears- the thieves tried to escape- but in vain –the man calls the police.
5)Salt merchant-had a donkey that carried heavy loads of salt on its back -donkey had to cross a stream to
transport the salt to other villages-Once the donkey slipped in water-salt dissolved in water-load became
lighter-donkey felt happy-repeats the donkey's evil intensions-plans to teach it a lesson-loads cotton on
donkey’s back- as donkey falls in water cotton becomes heavy-donkey repents.
6)A poor woodcutter — cutting wood — tree on a river bank — axe fell into the river — goddess — golden
axe — refused — silver axe — refused — wooden axe — happily accepted — goddess gave golden and
silver axes — blessing — moral.
7)A hungry dog — stand by a meat shop — butcher offers a meat piece — took in the mouth — ran over a
bridge — looked below — water — saw another dog — reflection — barked — meat fell in water —
disappointed — moral.
8) Two goats — jungle — argue with each other — did not like each other — a river with narrow bridge —
only one animal could cross at a time — one day — one goat crossing bridge — another goat was crossing
from opposite side — both were not ready to give up and move aside— each goat said he should go first —
tired waiting each other to move aside — both started crossing the bridge — reached middle — started
fighting — lost balance fell into the river and died.
9)Satish Gujral -weak and deaf. Refused admission by school-not a normal boy-boys made fun of him
remained at home-one day - saw a beautiful bird-attracted by the bird-took interest in painting and
drawing-father admitted him - the best school of art- learnt drawing, painting, - Satish- fore most artist of
India-exhibition of his works- all over the world-Government of India honoured-Padma Vibhushan. Moral: -

10) One day - extremely bright boy – Wangja - went to see bird of happiness-met three monsters on his
way- made him suffer - monsters gave cruel tasks - Wangjia refused to do tasks - as a result - had to cross
stony path - boundless desert -even became blind - end of the journey- nothing but skin and bone courage,
patience - finally reached - the bird of happiness - brought happiness to - village. Moral
11) A fox—fell into well—not very deep—tried to jump out—could not come out —a goat came—it was
thirsty—asked the fox—what he was doing there—clever fox thought of trick—purest and sweetest water
in the world—didn’t want to come out—invited the goat—foolish goat jumped—clever fox climbed on
back of goat—jumped out of the well—Moral.

13) Once lion-was asleep-mouse - running up and down - awakened the lion- caught the Mouse-“Pardon,
O King!” – cried - little mouse - lion – kind - lifted his paw - let him go – after few days - hunters captured-
78 lion-net- little mouse - passed by- ran to him - chewed the ropes – net - king of the jungle- freed- lion
thanked.
