The given line chart illustrates information about the average carbon dioxide
(CO2) emissions of each person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and
Portugal during the 40-year period starting from 1967.
From an overall perspective, while there were upward trends on the average
CO2 emissions in Italy and Portugal, the opposite were true for that in the
United Kingdom and Sweden. It is also noteworthy that the British released the
largest amount of CO2 emission during the period.
In the first year, the number of CO2 emissions in the United Kingdom was the
highest, at nearly 11 tonnes, followed by that in Sweden at approximately 8
tonnes. In comparison, the figure for the emission of CO2 was significantly
lower, at just above 4 metric tonnes a bit, and was succeeded by the release of
CO2 in Portugal at about 1 tonnes.
Over the following 40 years, the number or CO2 emission in the United
