What is data Science
“The rise of data Science would create roughly
11.5millionjob opening in 2026”- US Bureau of Labor
Statistics
“By 2026,Data Science and Analysts will become the
number one emerging role in the world”- World Economic
Forum
Dat Science and artificial intelligence are amongst the
hottest fields of the 21st Century that will impact all
segments of daily life by 2025, from transport and logistics
to healthcare and customer service
IMPORTANCE OF DATA SCIENCE
1. Data science helps brands to understand their
customers in a much enhanced and empowered
manner.
2. It allows brands to communicate their story in such an
engaging and powerful manner.
3. Big data is a new field that is constantly growing and
evolving.
4. Its findings and results can be applied to almost any
sector like travel, healthcare and education among
others.
5. Data science is accessible to almost all sectors
APPLICATIONS OF DATA SCIENCE
• Internet Search • Image Processing
APPLICATIONS OF DATA SCIENCE
• Airline route planning • Delivery logistics
• Healthcare • Internet of Things
Importance of Data Science
➢ Every day 2.5 quintillion bytes of data has been created
➢ With so much information in our finger tips, we are adding
to the data stockpile every time we turn to our search
engines for answers.
➢ Statistics show that more than 500 terabytes of new data
are entered into the databases of the social networking
site Facebook everyday.
➢ A single jet engine can generate 10 terabytes of data in
30 minutes of flight time. With several thousand flights per
data, data generation reached several Petabytes.
➢ Stock markets also generates about a terabytes of new
trade data every day.

Data Science and AI
Data science and artificial intelligence
(AI) are interconnected fields driving
modern technology. While they share
core components like machine learning,
they differ in their ultimate objectives and
methodologies
.
Data Science and AI
Data Science (DS): Focuses on extracting meaningful insights and
patterns from structured and unstructured data to inform business
decisions. Its outcome is typically a report, dashboard, or predictive
model.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Aims to create systems that mimic human
intelligence, such as reasoning, learning, and perception. Its outcome
is an autonomous or intelligent machine, such as a chatbot or self-
driving car
The Relationship: AI in Data Science
In 2026, the two fields are increasingly blended. Data scientists use AI tools to
automate data management (cleaning and formatting) and to generate code or
visualizations through generative AI. Conversely, AI systems require the data
pipelines and quality standards established by data science to function
effectively
