LESSON 1: COURSE OVERVIEW
ACTIVITY 1
Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the following

1. What is the main delivery of this course?
Course is a task-oriented course which combines the guide
study using self-learning modules and collaboration
through learning action cell (LAC). The main delivery
modality of these LDM Course will be the guided
independent study through self learning modules. To be
made available in printed version.
2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction in
the “new normal”?
This course will help us to deliver the quality of education
to our learners in the “New Normal” situation. The LDM2
will prepare teachers with skills, knowledge and proper
mind-set that would be necessary for the new school year.
3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this
course?
The two support mechanism are the following:
The LDM2 course since it will enable me to plan for the
implementation of the school adapted LDMs, prepare
learning materials and resources, and also the collaboration
with my fellow teachers since we need to collaborate for a
LAC sessions to discuss a particular lesson and convene on
the task given.

ACTIVITY 3.

I and my co teachers discussed our outputs and shared
with each other our views and reflections in Activities 1
and 2. We shared insights too. I have learned a lot from
that collaborative discussion that we had. With this
collaborative discussion, I have learned new perspective
from others and use these as my motivation to continue
what I have started.
LESSON 2: ORGANIZING YOUR LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)
ACTIVITY 1
Begin by refreshing your memory on the Learning Action Cell. Read DepEd Order No. 35
s. 2016 titled “The Learning Action Cell as the K to 12 Basic Education Program
SchoolBased Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of
Teaching and Learning.” Once you’re done, answer the following questions. Write your
responses and any other ideas and reflections in your Study Notebook.
1. Reflect on the objectives for conducting LAC sessions as listed in DO 35, s. 2016.
Rank the following objectives from easiest to the most difficult to achieve:

2. What are the top three challenges to having a successful LAC? List down and
elaborate.
1. Verifying the expected learning outcomes whether they are
reached or not, identifying disadvantaged groups that need to be
addressed to go with the current trend of learning process, and
diagnosing gaps and strengths of learners among others.
2. The instruments used are usually complex to be able to
measure a set of skills and abilities. This might give confusion
and misperception if not simplified.
3. The distance and limited communication between technical
team which administers assessments.
ACTIVITY 2
According to DO 35, s. 2016, a LAC should have no less than 2 but not more than15
members each. Get in touch with your designated Coach or LAC Leader in forming your
LACs.
1. Agree on a date and time to meet and discuss forming your LACs. Follow LAC
Session 1 Guide for the conduct of your LAC.’

2. During this meeting, decide on your groupings and designate one LAC Facilitator and
one LAC Leader per LAC.
3. Note the following in forming your LACs:
● LACs should be composed of teachers. Discuss your preferred LAC composition
with your assigned Instructional Coach (this will be a district or division supervisor
assigned to your LAC).
● After forming your respective LACs, there should a LAC Leader assigned to you
from among the following school members:
- Master Teachers
- Head Teacher/Department Head
- Senior or seasoned teachers who have shown competence, potential to
lead, or subject expertise to lead the LAC.
● Teacher LACs can connect with their Instructional Coach through the LAC Leader.
This Instructional Coach will also be handling multiple LACs through a network of
LAC Leaders.

In order to provide effective teaching and learning delivery in the new normal
since the traditional face-to-face interaction is still prohibited, it is but fitting and
essential to gain better understanding of various LDMs in order to address
diverse learning needs of our learners considering their
geophysical/geographical locations, cultural and economic
backgrounds. Schools would experience setbacks, bottlenecks and problems
upon implementing these various LDMs without understanding first their unique
backgrounds.
With this LAC Team Lawigan ES 001 conducted a LAC on this topic. The session
conducted last September 7, 2020 at exactly 7:30 in the morning. Ma’am Mary
Rose F. Sicuando our facilitator, deepens our understanding on these various
LDMs, there positive and negative sides , there benefits contrary to what has
been posted in various social media. With better understanding to these LDMs
comes better implementation and a more effective institutionalization or
operationalization to these LDMs and in the process, comes better teaching and
learning outcomes. Teachers were very attentive and cooperative in
participating the said session.
Deepening our understanding on these LDMs, our team was aware about
traditional face-to-face learning, modular distance learning, online distance
learning, blended learning, and home schooling. We distinguished features,
essential resources needed; roles and functions of the school, the teacher and
parents’ function, along the way, as implementing arms of these LDMs can
provide appropriate interventions to address bottlenecks and challenges.
Furthermore, in operationalizing these LDMs in our school caters pure modular.
With our better understanding on the different LDMs, we can assure the public
specifically parents, learners and stakeholders that quality, relevant and
liberating basic education can continue in the midst of this pandemic. The
session ended at exactly 11:30 in the morning. It was moved to close by Ma’am
Maryrose Bandiola, Teacher III and was duly seconded by Ma’am Felisa S.
Sartorio, Teacher III of the said school.
