About Yourself
1. Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Chen Zhuoru and you can just call me Eason. I’m 10 years old and
I’m studying in Nexus international school now. I come from Wuhan, china.
2. Can you introduce your hometown(家乡）? What do you like about it?
Wuhan is a beautiful city and it has lots of delicious food. I like the theme park
in Wuhan which is similar to Disneyland. There are many interesting facilities(
设施） that I can play.
3. Can you tell me a bit more about your family?
There are four people in my family: my parents, my older sister and me. My
sister is studying at the same school as me and sometimes I go to the cinema
with her.
4. How do you usually spend time with your parents?
I enjoy talking to my parents and telling them what happened during my school
day.
5. How long have you been in Singapore and how do you like it so far?
I have been in Singapore for 8 months and I really like this country. I like the
clean environment and friendly people here.
School and Academics

My school is Nexus international school which has modern teaching buildings.
The teachers and students here are all very nice.
[Link] do you like the most about your previous school?
I have many chances(机会） to do some interesting experiments（实验）.
[Link] is your favorite/best subject? Why?
My favourite subject is PE because we can have swimming lessons in PE and I
really like to play in the water.
[Link] is your second favorite subject?Why?/What other subject do you
enjoy learning?
I also like Maths and I think solving math questions（解数学题） is really
interesting.

I like calculating the area of different shapes, such as rectangles, squares and
triangles.
[Link] Math your strongest subject?/What’s your strongest subject?
No, I think English is my strongest subject as I can always get great grades for
my English test.

I like grammar and listening the most. Sometimes, I like to listen to some
English songs.

I think It’s hard to remember the English words. But I will try my best to
remember more words.
[Link] is your least favorite subject? Why?
My least favourite subject is Chinese because It’s hard to understand the
meaning of an article and answer the questions.

I don’t have science lessons in my current school, but we do some experiments
during recess time.
[Link] part of Science class do you find most attractive/interesting ?
I enjoyed doing experiments during science class.
Hobbies and Free Time
[Link] do you do during your free time?
Sometimes I like finding the queen ants with my friends and exploring nature. I
also like playing minecraft in my free time.
[Link] you like reading?What kind of books do you like reading?
I like reading story books after I finish my homework everyday.
[Link] you often read in Chinese or English?
I read in both Chinese and English. I usually read English books from [Link]’s
reading app.
[Link] is your favorite book?
My favourite book is The Smurfs series. It has many interesting stories and I just
read a story called After dreams. It talks about a smurf called duo duo. One day,
when he woke up, he found that he slept for 200 years and other smurfs had all
become old. He needed to work for them.
[Link] is your favorite character in the book?
I like Benben the most. Although he often makes many troubles, he is very cute
and interesting.
17. What is your second favorite book?
I also like to read the Cat Ninja collection. It’s about a clever cat who fights bad
guys and protects the city while pretending to be a regular pet at home. He is
fast and smart.
About NLCS

I think NLCS is one of the best schools in Singapore and all the students inside
are very clever.
[Link] is your plan(计划）if you are offered to come to NLCS?
I will work harder and make some new friends. I also want to join the
swimming club.

Do I need to bring our ipad or computer to school?
How often do we have swimming lessons?

I really want to join and study in NLCS. I will keep working hard to improve

Extra questions
[Link] do you think are the differences between Singapore and China?
I think Singapore is smaller than China, but the environment here is very clean.
I can hardly see any rubbish on the streets. Besides, Singapore is always in
summer, but in China we can have four seasons.
[Link]’s your favorite place in Singapore? Why?
My favourite place is Universal Studio. I like this place because there are many
movie characters there. It looks really amazing to me.
[Link] you ever done anything that you/your parents are proud of? What is
the challenge(挑战） you ever met and how do you overcome(战胜) it?
Yes, my parents are proud that I learned how to swim very fast. At first, I was
scared to go into the deep water, but I kept trying and never gave up . After
some practice, I became more confident and now I love swimming!
[Link] you had a whole day free, nothing planned, what would you like to do?
In the morning, I will wake up around 8 a.m. and read English books on my iPad
for two hours. After that, I will play games with my friends on my iPad. Then, I
will go out with my family to have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, I will play
with my friends in a park and find queen ants. In the evening, I will watch a
TV-series with my friends and enjoy some snacks.

My favourite song is Stay. I really like this song, and I often sing along with the
music.
[Link] you describe one of the experiments that you did before?
Once we did an experiment about how salt affects the melting of ice. We put
the same amount of ice into two cups and put salt on top of the ice in the second
cup. Then, we found that the ice melted(融化） faster with salt.
7. What is the difference between your previous school and current school?
I think my current school subjects such as math are easier than my previous
school. My current school is an international school but my previous school
often speaks chinese.
