Behavior

The document discusses the influence of genetics on behavior, highlighting the role of natural selection as described by Darwin and Galton. It covers innate behaviors, learning processes, and social interactions among organisms, including examples of specific species and their behaviors. Additionally, it addresses the organization of animal societies, including social structures and territorial behaviors.

Effects of genetics
on behaviour:
according to
Darwin natural
selection has great
influence on
organism. This was
followed by Galton
and He stated that
natural selection

Organisms of temperate area shows seasonal activity ie. most of them
breed in spring and shows decrease in activity in winter called
hibernation. In tropics, there is period of heavy rain and the organisms
of these regions are adopted to this condition

insects shows

E.g Lion, Beer, Wolf etc on diurnal

Innate behavior is inherited (ethogram)

just like inheritence of colour and other
traits as they are coded in DNA

Bee move towards nectar, pair of birds will form nest, spider
spin to weave web, catterpillar will form cocoon, birds sing
after hatching even in isolation, it also include simple reflexes
like removing of hand on touching acid or hot stove.

S.B are set of interactions in intraspecific organisms.
Some of them are asocial and interact less with each
other e.g mosquitos, polor beers but others are highly
social and works together and live in colonies e.g. pack
of wolves, bee, wasps, fishes etc
