I. Objectives: At the end of 50- minute period, all the pupils should be able to:
a. Identify the parts of the plants
b. Describe the parts of the plants
c. Appreciate the help of the plants in our daily life.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Parts of the Plant
Materials: Books, Real-life Plants, Pictures
References: Science Book MELC page 77-79
III. Procedures:
A. Preliminary Activities:

Group the pupils into 3 groups. Let the pupil arrange the puzzled pictures of a
plant. The first group to arrange the picture is the winner.

B. Review: Give me an example of a fruit bearing and non-fruit bearing plants.

C. Motivation: Let the pupil sing the song “The Plant Song”.
D. Presentation: (Show a picture through power point presentation)
The teacher will ask the pupils about what have they learned from the Action Song
they sang.
The teacher will ask the pupils about the plants they know and they always see in
their surroundings.
The teacher will present a picture of a tomato plant and will explain the different parts
of the plant.
E. Discussion:
- Do you think plant can help us live?
- Plants provide us with oxygen, foods, medicine and shelter.
The teacher will discuss the different parts and functions of the plants.

Arrange the picture accordingly to complete the parts of the plants.

V. Assignment: Draw a plant that you can see at home and label its part.
