Before I begin, I feel it’s only right to ask the question that instantly brought our class back to
life whenever the room felt a little too quiet.
As our dear Vivek sir once said—
“12A… good day or marie?”
And just like that… we are awake.
Good afternoon, respected principal, teachers and my dear friends
I’m Dharshini Prateesh Kumar, and I had the honor of being the class prefect of 12A this year
and today, I’m excited to take a moment to reflect on this past year—not just my own
experiences, but the experiences, memories, and achievements of all of us as a class.
So, I asked each of my classmates to share their favorite memories, experiences, and moments
from this year.
Today, I have the privilege of reading these memories aloud, giving all of us a chance to relive
the year together through each other’s eyes. So, sit back, and let’s take a journey through our
shared experiences, the moments that shaped us, and the memories we’ll carry forward.”
Now let’s be honest.
When we first came together, we were awkward. Quiet. Distant.
No matter how hard our teachers tried to get us to speak up, participate, or even make eye
contact, we somehow mastered the art of silence.
It reached a point where even our Principal had to come and address us. And we still stayed
silent.
But something slowly began to change.
One conversation at a time. One shared laugh. One group project. One inside joke.
The awkward silence turned into hesitant smiles. The hesitant smiles turned into conversations.
And those conversations turned into the loud, chaotic, inseparable family we call 12A today.
And honestly… none of us would trade this class for anything.
We learned a lot this year. Not just from textbooks. But from each other.
We mastered the art of copying homework five minutes before class, pretending to listen while
secretly emptying lunchboxes, and revising an entire syllabus the night before exams.
Somehow, we turned classrooms into laughter zones, corridors into confession rooms, and
benches into lifelong memory seats.
We survived surprise tests, strict invigilators, and teachers who somehow always knew when we
were bluffing.
Yet in between all that stress, we found laughter, friendship, and comfort in each other.
And standing here today, we realize those “stressful” days were actually some of the best days of
our lives.
One of the most heartwarming moments was Teachers’ Day—surprising our teachers with cakes,
gifts, and certificates. Of course, they smiled and told us the real gift would be our board exam
marks… but we all know they loved the surprise just as much as we did.
And then there was Chalet.
Two days. No phones. No scrolling. No notifications.
At first, it felt like we were missing a limb, but soon, we realized we were finding something much
better, each other.
Without our phones to capture every second, we danced until midnight, laughed until our stomachs
hurt, and lived every second instead of recording it.
Chalet wasn’t just a trip. It was proof that the strongest connection isn’t found on a 5G
network…but in the people sitting right next to us.
Of course, studying also happened. Occasionally.
Some of our funniest moments happened when we decided to bunk class, creating our own little
adventures while trying not to get caught.
It was the perfect mix of learning, friendship, and just enough flying bottlecaps to keep things
interesting.
And that brings me to the truth everyone here already knows…
12A was never a quiet class. Not even close.
We are, and always will be, proudly known as the wild monkeys of 12A.
A title we didn’t just accept… We lived up to.
Our teachers probably have more stories about us than notes in their registers.
From hoping Reny ma’am would magically forget the test she scheduled—(spoiler: she never
did)—to turning physics classes into full-fledged comedy shows.
Reny ma’am even trusted us enough to teach with the lights turned off, believing we would stay
awake purely out of interest and discipline. Ma’am… we tried.
Along the way, she also mastered the art of detecting exactly who had slept during class, turning
every period into a subtle investigation. 12A being 12A, at some point, almost all of us were
caught. Ma’am, thank you for your patience, and your belief in us. You truly were the best, and
we apologise for the times we fell short.
In computer class, we confidently pretended our homework was done, only to be gently exposed
by Anjali ma’am.
Chemistry with Lakshmi ma’am meant one joke, one silly move, and suddenly the entire
class—including ma’am—bursting into laughter.
And the labs? Jayalakshmi ma’am has seen things. Broken apparatus. Strange experiments. And
our confidently innocent, “It wasn’t me, maam.”
Tuney ma’am and Reny ma’am chasing us with scales taught us a valuable lesson: Discipline is
faster than our running speed.
Shivangi ma’am stayed up all night correcting our papers… while we rewarded her by
accidentally traumatizing her at 3 a.m. with our answers.
English classes with Santhosh sir taught us that literature isn’t just something you memorize. It’s
something you feel. Something you question. Something you live.
But beneath all the jokes, noise, and chaos… this class is built on something beautiful.
Friendship.
Not just between students. But between students and teachers too.
We walked up to them without fear. Annoyed them without mercy. And yet… were loved
without limits.
To our Principal sir—thank you for listening to us, understanding us, and supporting us.
To all our teachers, mentors, and well-wishers—thank you for your patience, your guidance, and
your belief in us… even when we tested it.
We stand here today not just as students who finished a syllabus… but as a family that grew up
together.
The walls of 12A will soon be filled with new voices. Other hands will sit at our desks. But the
legacy of our laughter, our chaos, and our bond is etched into these walls forever.
As we step out of these school gates, we step into a world full of uncertainty, challenges, and
endless possibilities.
The future may not always be clear. But one thing is certain— We leave this place stronger,
wiser, and more confident than when we entered.
No matter where life takes us, a part of us will always belong to 12A.
This is not a goodbye. It’s simply the beginning.
So here’s to the late nights, the loud laughs, the silent support, and the unforgettable bond we
share.
And so, one last time…
“12A… good day or marie?”
And with full confidence, we can finally say—
GOOD DAY!
Thank you
