II. GENERAL TEST BEHAVIOUR
He was compliant and polite and did not appear nervous during any part of the testing.
Physical appearance was in appropriate to his age. Rapport could be established easily . Eye
to eye contact was found to be adequate. He seemed to understand the tasks at hand and
remained attentive throughout the course of the testing process. He appeared fully oriented to
person, place, time, and situation. He could comprehend the test instructions. He could not
speak fluently, language and communication was found to be normal.
III. Problem Behaviour Reported & Observed.
[Link] was born to non-consanguineous parents, born full term caesarean delivery-
delayed developmental milestones and speech – never attended any therapies so far- parents
reports that he behaves normally at home- but in the school he is inattentive and hyperactive-
sometimes disturbs other children- has difficulty in concentration, academic performance –
particularly in reading, spelling and writing. Parents also observed that he is always active,
interest in other activities.
IV. TEST FINDINGS :
On Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence, 2nd Edition (WASI-II. India )- his IQ
range (85) fall into the category of Low Average Intellectual Functioning.
On Specific Learning Disability Assessment, findings as follows,
On reading Test- he has severe difficulty in reading such as guessing at the words,
spells out but not able to coin the word, reading age was placed at 7 years 6 months
and Grade around 2nd to 3rd std level.
On writing – slowness was present.
On spelling - errors, auditory discrimination, his spelling age was placed at 7.5
years and Grade around 2nd to 3rd level.
He also has difficulty in basic arithmetic like subtractions, and multiplications.
On Bender Gestalt test – mild deviation, lack of contact shows difficulty in eye
hand coordination.
On ADHD Rating scale – he has mild inattention and hyperactivity.
SUMMARY
[Link] is a 11 years 2 months old male who was brought with the complaints of
lack of concentration and difficulty in learning. On the IQ assessment, Full-4 IQ score of 85
indicates Low Average Intellectual Functioning .
On Specific Learning Disability Assessment, he has difficulty in reading and spelling
which is suggestive of Dyslexia .
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Parental counseling.-
He would benefit from remedial class. To improve his basic reading and spelling skills.
He would benefit from attention enhancing therapy.
He may need individual attention and certain accommodations or arrangements to be
made in the classroom such as- to sit in front of the teacher- often call him by name or
touch him to make aware about the surroundings-praise him for good behaviours- to do
simple work like collecting note books, helping other children- watering the garden in the
school – encourage him to participate in the extra curricular activities etc.,
