Instructions for Public Examination

 Neat Presentation. Legible Handwriting.


 Page Alignment.
 Stick to the order in the qn. Paper.
 Qn. No and sub division to be written
 Read the question properly. Choose wisely.
 Do not use pelican. Strike the word with a pencil and rewrite.
 Complete the page and then go to the next page.

Part A Vocabulary – No choice. Write the options and ans.


 Synonyms – Refer Prose and Supplementary
 Antonyms –Don’t be deceived by the options.
Synonyms will also be given.
 Write the questions and the answers from 7 to 20.
Refer XI & XII text and vocabulary booklet.
 Foreign words
 Abbreviations & Acronyms – Check the correct spelling.
Capitalise the first letters of the words.
 Compound Word –Write the full word.
Read the qn. properly …can be / cannot
be placed b4 the word.
 Idioms, Clipping, Blending, American & British English
 Sentence Pattern – Do not use slash
 Modals & Semi Modals– Read the qn. and fix the right ans
Modals- Can, could, shall, should, may, might, will,
would & must.
Semi Modals – Ought to, Used to, Need & Dare.
 Prefix & Suffix – Write the full word.
 Definition of Terms, Singular & Plural – check the sp.
 Syllabification – Pronounce the word and write the ans.
 Homophones – Write the sentence and fill the blank.
 Question Tags – Refer pg. 79 of textbook.
Go through the examples.
 Euphemism - Pg. 150 and the additional ones given.
 Blended Word – Pg. 150 & Vocabulary Booklet.
 Refer Textbook for Articles , Determiners, Preposition,
Prepositional Phrase, Concord,
Conjunctions. Linkers& Punctuation.

 Spelling of Figures of Speech/ Poetic device /
