PERFORMANCE TASK

Which of the issues discussed in this unit piqued your attention the
most?
 I picked Mental Health because mental health is a huge challenge
because so many people are struggling, they're afraid to talk about
it, and it's tough to get the support they need to feel better.

Why is it important to be aware of societal issues and take action?

 It's super important to be aware of societal issues and take action
because we all live in the same world! If you don't know what's
wrong, you can't fix it. Being aware means, you understand what's
happening to other people, whether it's bullying, pollution, or
mental health struggles. Taking action, even small steps, is how
things change. If everyone just sat around and said, "That's sad,"
nothing would get better. If we talk about issues, raise money, or
even just stand up for someone, we're making our community and
the world a better, fairer place for everyone.

INFOGRAPHIC TITLE: Mind Matters

Mental health matters a whole lot to students because school can be

super stressful! We must deal with homework, studying for big tests, trying to
get good grades, and figuring out what we want to do next. All this pressure can
make us feel really overwhelmed, anxious, or even sad. When our mental health
is good, it means our brains are working properly, and we can focus on class,
remember stuff for tests, and handle tough situations like friend drama or a bad
test score.
If we ignore our mental health, it can make everything harder—we might
not sleep well, we could get sick more often, and it becomes difficult to
concentrate on schoolwork or even enjoy hanging out with friends. Basically,
taking care of our mental health is just as important as doing our homework
because it helps us learn better, be happier, and just get through the school year
without totally freaking out!

Have your target audience in creating your pitch?

 Yes, I had a target audience!

My target audience was high school students, especially those who

spend a lot of time on social media.

I chose them because I know they're the ones who might be

struggling with stress from school or feeling left out, and they are
the ones who need to know that "it's okay not to be okay".

Did you effectively use propaganda and persuasive techniques in your

work?

 I think I did a pretty good job using persuasive techniques! I focused

more on persuasive techniques than on propaganda, to be honest. I
tried to make it sound really convincing so people would try the
Wellness Tools like "Talk to someone you trust" or "Practice
mindfulness and relaxation.
