🔆 Electrical Solar Oven Using Arduino (I2C LCD)

PAGE 1

🔹 Aim

To design and study an electrical solar oven using a solar panel and Arduino with I2C LCD for
temperature monitoring.

🔹 Materials Required

• Solar Panel
• Heating Coil (Nichrome)
• Arduino UNO
• Relay Module
• Temperature Sensor (LM35)
• 16×2 I2C LCD
• Insulated Box with Glass Lid
• Connecting Wires

🔹 Principle

Solar energy is converted into electrical energy using a solar panel. When this electrical energy flows
through a heating coil, it is converted into heat due to electrical resistance. Arduino monitors the
temperature using a sensor and controls heating safely using a relay.

🔹 Energy Conversion

Solar Energy → Electrical Energy → Heat Energy

🔹 Working (Step-by-Step)

1. Sunlight falls on the solar panel and produces DC electricity.

2. Power is supplied to the heating coil through a relay.
3. The heating coil produces heat due to resistance.
4. The LM35 sensor measures the oven temperature.
5. Arduino processes the temperature data.
6. The relay is switched OFF if temperature exceeds the limit.
7. The I2C LCD displays temperature and heater status.

🔹 Advantages

• Uses renewable energy

• Environment friendly
• Low operating cost
• Automatic temperature control

🔹 Limitations

• Depends on sunlight availability

• Heating is slower
• Limited power output

🔹 Applications

• Solar cooking

2
• Heating food in remote areas
• Educational projects

🔹 Conclusion

The electrical solar oven efficiently utilizes solar energy for heating. The use of Arduino, relay, temperature
sensor, and I2C LCD ensures safe operation and real-time monitoring, making the system suitable for
educational purposes.
