Chapter 7: Sonia meets Aditya

Sonia had struggled a lot in her life to find her own identity. Finally everything paid off. It was golden
period of her life. She was enjoying her work in office and her own company at home. She just
wanted to unleash the madness in her. Nobody knew her in that area and she wasn’t even bothered
to think about people around. She had enough of botheration in her life.

She was living close to a very upmarket. Girls would come to the market dressed amazingly but she
would stroll around the markets in her pyjama and slippers. Her new found pass time was to go in
restaurants in that area and have dinner date with food. She would take a corner seat with best
possible view of the market area. Her tummy would savour the food and her eyes would feast on the
glitzy glamorous life she has never seen in her life. Spotting a hot guy crossing by was nothing less
than hitting jackpot. Who cared if she was drooling over someone or messing with her food. It was
like a dream for her and she was living it to the fullest.

This happiness was contagious and it improved her performance in office as well. Clients were really
happy to deal with her. Even her boss could notice this so he asked her to connect with the clients
and bring some fresh business or may be some cross selling with the existing clients.

Sonia took the job and made database of existing clients. She started approaching the clients to
understand their requirements. Even though she was putting her best efforts yet nothing concrete
came up. To add on to the pressure branch received a target of 15 insurance policies to be done in a
week. The target was insane but then no one can expect management’s decision to be otherwise.

Now the boss also started contacting clients. One of the clients he called was assuring and invited
the boss to their office to discuss further preposition. Boss was eagerly looking forward for the
meeting. Two days later client called the boss and informed that they have sent the driver to pick
him up for the meeting. The boss inquired how much business can he expect, to which client
showed his inability. He got really pissed at this and in the last moment he dropped the idea of
visiting their office. By then the driver had arrived.

Boss got in a tight spot so made an excuse and instead asked Sonia to go for the meeting. She wasn’t
prepared for the meeting but she can’t refuse. So she hurriedly took her stuff and left the office.
Since she was to meet the owner of a business, she was expecting him to be an old aged uncle.

She reached office. It was a small space having one corridor and two small rooms which appear to be
the cabins for the owners. There were 6-8 to people in the corridor glued to their screen. The driver
requested her to sit while he informs his boss. There was a meeting going on in the cabin and she
could hear the discussions. By hearing the discussions she thought boss is very authoritative. She
was fidgeting nervously. After 15 mins of waiting the meeting was over and she went to the cabin.
The moment she reached inside her eyes met Aditya.

Aditya was almost her age. He had a sturdy built with long fingers. The softness in his hazelnut eyes
were complemented by his chiselled jaw line. His dusky complexion further accentuated his
features. He welcomed her with smile. The warmth in his smile could melt any heart. She generally
meet so many clients everyday but those eyes had something special. He ordered coffee and was
attending to her with tenderness. His gestures exude care. She felt as if she is not on official visit
rather on a date.
Sonia had reached so far in her life and she did all of it on her own. In that moment she felt the need
to be with someone who would protect her and keep her warm. He kept talking and all she could do
was drown herself in those deep eyes. She had expected the meeting to be short but the company
was interesting enough to drag it till 8 at night. She left the office with their driver lost in her
fantasies.

Next day when she reached office and tried to focus on her work but her mind still hung on to the
memories of previous day. She got an urge to call him and listen to his seductive voice. They had
exchanged cards so she took out her bag and searched for it. She almost panicked when she could
not find the card but after a lot of searching she got it. She saved his contact and checked out his pic
on whatsapp. It was clicked somewhere in an exotic location probably in Europe. He was equally
handsome in the picture. She so desperately wanted to message him but could not do so. After all he
is her client and professional ethics came in between.

It was noon when her boss called him and asked for the update of the meeting. She hid her
expressions and informed that there was nothing promising. Boss was expecting the same so there
was not much discussion and she returned to her desk. She got back into the reality and realised she
had spent almost half of office hours daydreaming for the guy. Work piled up and she was guilty for
it. She spent the rest of day immersed in work.

She was over that meeting in few days and life was back to where it was. until one fine day his
number popped up on her phone. The call made her blush, she took a deep breathe to get normal
and finally picked the call. One of his cheque payment was stuck so he wanted to know the status of
payment. The conversation was pretty normal but it broke the ice. He sent the details of cheque on
whatsapp. She solved the issue and sent a reply message. He not only just thanked her but also
complimented her picture. Now it was difficult for her to hold back her feelings but somehow she
maintained her composure and replied in a very generic way. One thing lead to another and they
started chatting frequently. There was a spark in them and it quickly translated into a close
friendship. Meanwhile on work front she somehow managed to fulfil the targets.
