Solution

The document outlines various risks associated with wet cargo, including leakage, quality degradation, chemical reactions, contamination, and handling hazards during transport. It proposes solutions such as proper packaging, temperature control, worker training, thorough cleaning of containers, and the use of management systems to monitor cargo conditions. These measures aim to prevent product loss, ensure safety, and maintain product quality throughout the transport process.

B.

WET CARGO

1. Leakage of liquids due to damaged valves, caps, or tank/container bodies, or improperly sealed
closures, causing spills during transport. This leads to product loss, fire/explosion risks, environmental
contamination, high cleanup costs, and damage to the company’s reputation.

2. Quality degradation caused by unstable temperature, where heat-sensitive liquids (oils,

chemicals, resins) are affected by fluctuating temperatures during storage or transport. This results in
precipitation, separation, solidification, or reduced product quality.

3. Chemical reactions caused by incompatible materials, when the liquid comes into
contact with unsuitable container materials or pumping equipment (e.g., corrosive reactions with metal
or non-resistant plastics). This generates toxic gases, corrodes the container, alters the product, and
poses serious safety hazards.

4. Contamination from unclean containers or equipment, when tanks, IBCs, drums, or

pumping tools are not properly cleaned before reuse. This causes impurities, loss of purity, or changes in
product properties.

5. Handling and transportation risks, such as strong vibration, drum impacts, or tipping
during lifting or travel on poor-quality roads. This may lead to leakage, damaged packaging, product loss,
safety hazards, chemical spills, and delivery delays.

IV. SOLUTION

A. CARGO AND CARGO MANAGERMENT

Use proper packaging, pallets, and containers to reduce tearing, leakage, dust, and oxidation
during transport. Damaged packaging should be replaced, and containers must be checked for
cleanliness and tight sealing before loading to avoid contamination and product loss.

Apply desiccants and monitoring devices to control temperature and humidity, and use the right
type of ventilated or closed container. This helps prevent mold, condensation, quality changes,
and separation of liquids, especially for cold-chain cargo, paper, fabric, and heat-sensitive
liquids.

Train workers on correct lifting, stacking, and securing techniques using straps, blocking bars,
and stretch film. Proper procedures help prevent dropping, breaking, deformation, or leakage
during loading, unloading, and transport.

Containers, pallets, and pumping tools must be cleaned, deodorized, and checked carefully
before use. Inspection helps avoid contamination by dust, odors, or impurities and ensures that
equipment and packaging do not affect the cargo.

Use TMS/WMS systems to monitor temperature, location, and storage time to avoid delays and
damage. Apply FIFO/FEFO and set warning alerts to prevent expired goods, quality loss, or
decreased freshness during transportation.
