When applied using an appropriate brush, TAL Goldstar Grout

DATA SHEET
GOLDSTAR GROUT SEALER
Issue Date: 27 JANUARY 2025

TECHNICAL DATA:

Type Sealer
Colour Clear
Packaging 1L bottle with applicator
Application Temperature Range (Ambient) 10°C - 30°C

CAUTION:
• Ensure that all surfaces to be sealed are completely clean and dry before applying TAL Goldstar Grout Sealer.
• Do not mix with other chemicals.
• Do not allow to freeze.

PREPARATION:
All grout joints should be clean and free from dust, dirt and surface contaminants. This is more so for existing (cured) grout since
any stains not removed will be sealed into the grout.
Newly applied grout should be allowed to cure for at least 20 minutes before being sealed.
TAL Goldstar Daily Tile Cleaner or TAL Goldstar Heavy Duty Tile Cleaner are ideal for cleaning of tiles and grout prior to sealing.
Note: If applying TAL Goldstar Grout Sealer over existing grout joints to prevent the ingress of moisture through the grout, first
inspect the grout to ascertain that it is in good condition, ie firm and intact and well bonded to the sides of the tiles (ie no cracks,
voids or pinholes in the grout). If the grout is cracked, there is a strong possibility that water may permeate through the cracks, even
after sealing. The grout should rather be carefully scraped out of the joints to a minimum depth of about 5mm, taking due care to
ensure that the adjacent tiles are not damaged or disturbed.
The joints should then be re-grouted, using a suitable TAL Grout. The grout should be mixed with TAL Bond for enhanced flexibility
and water resistance.
Thereafter TAL Goldstar Grout Sealer can be applied over the joints for added protection.

APPLICATION:
Shake the container well before use.
Mask off any adjacent areas which may need to be protected during the application.
• Floor Applications:
Cut the nozzle at an angle and attach to the container. Holding the container no more than 5cm from the surface, pour onto the grout
joints. If bubbles form on the surface of the grout, break the bubbles before the product dries.
• Wall Applications:
Lightly wet a clean, appropriate artist’s brush or very small paint brush with TAL Goldstar Grout Sealer and apply onto the grout. Avoid
excessive application as the product will run down the wall.
• Note:
Avoid “ponding” of TAL Goldstar Grout Sealer in recessed joints – remove excess with a damp cloth.
Allow to dry for circa 30 minutes. Apply a second coat if required.
Avoid spillage / application on tiles. Any spillage should be wiped off immediately with a clean, damp cloth.
