Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to:
a) identify apparatus and instruments used in the laboratory
b) classify apparatus and instruments in the laboratory based on their use
c) appreciate the need for different apparatus and instruments in the laboratory.
Resources:
An assortment of laboratory apparatus and instruments such as test tubes, beakers,
measuring cylinders, Bunsen burner, hand lens, microscopes, thermometers, watch
glass, evaporating dish, test tube holders, burettes, pipettes, tripod stands, forceps,
tongs, glass rod, voltmeters, ammeters, Vernier callipers, micrometre screw gauge,
droppers, volumetric flasks, conical flasks, round bottom flasks, flat bottom flasks,
weighing scales/balances, spirit burners, filter funnels etc.

Communication and collaboration as learners work in groups to identify apparatus
and instruments in the laboratory based on their uses
