Introduction
DMPA (Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) is a long-acting progesterone injection used
for contraception and for the treatment of abnormal or heavy uterine bleeding.

Dose and Schedule


• 150 mg intramuscular injection

• Given once every 3 months (12 weeks)

Mechanism of Action
