5. INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
During my 15-day internship as a UI/UX Designer, I had the opportunity to work on
designing intuitive and user-centered digital interfaces aimed at improving the usability and
aesthetic appeal of web applications. The internship allowed me to apply design principles,
user research methods, and prototyping tools to real-world projects under the mentorship of
experienced designers.
Development Process:
• User Research & Analysis
My initial role involved conducting user research through surveys, interviews, and
competitor analysis to understand user pain points and behaviors. This phase helped me create
user personas and user journey maps, forming the foundation for all subsequent design
decisions.
• Wireframing & Prototyping
I used Figma and Adobe XD to design low-fidelity wireframes and convert them into high-
fidelity interactive prototypes. I focused on consistency, visual hierarchy, and responsive
design principles to ensure a seamless experience across devices.
• Visual Design
Using tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I developed the visual style of the project
— including color palettes, typography, and iconography — ensuring they aligned with the
brand’s identity and improved accessibility.
• Usability Testing
After creating prototypes, I conducted usability testing sessions with users to gather
feedback on layout, navigation, and interaction flow. This feedback was analyzed and
implemented to refine the final design for better efficiency and satisfaction.
pg. 6
• Collaboration
Throughout the internship, I worked closely with developers and project managers to ensure
that the design specifications were feasible and aligned with development timelines. I also
learned how to use design handoff tools like Zeplin and Figma Inspect to share design
assets efficiently.
Overall, this internship enhanced my ability to design user-centric interfaces and exposed me
to the entire product design lifecycle — from concept to final implementation.
Internship Objectives
The primary objectives of this internship were to:
Gain hands-on experience with UI/UX design principles and tools.
Understand user needs through research and usability testing.
Develop high-quality, responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications.
Enhance teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a professional
design environment.
Project Overview
During my internship, I worked on the project:
Project Title:
Lost and Found – Smart Communication System
Project Description:
The Lost and Found – Smart Communication System is a user-centered digital platform
designed to help users report, track, and recover lost items efficiently within an organization
or campus. The system focuses on building a seamless communication bridge between users
who lose items and those who find them.
pg. 7
The project’s goal was to design an intuitive, visually appealing, and accessible user
interface that simplifies the process of reporting lost items, uploading details or images, and
communicating with the finder securely.
As a UI/UX Designer, my role was to research user needs, design interactive wireframes,
create visual layouts, and develop clickable prototypes to ensure smooth usability across
different devices.
Technologies & Tools Used:
Design Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator
Prototyping & Testing: Figma Prototype, Maze, InVision
Collaboration Tools: Notion, Trello, Slack
Frontend Collaboration: HTML, CSS (for developer handoff understanding)
