It is the activity of searching
and finding out about things or places.
Why do people
explore?
1. Trade:
To trade is to willingly give things or services and
get other things or services in return.

The things that are given from one


person to the other are called goods.
2. Treasures.

gold, silver, jewelry
and antiques so they
can get richer.
3. Land:
Explorers often want to
find a land for
themselves to call a
country.
They want a fertile
land to grow their food,
or a land that is full of
natural resources like
minerals and fuel.
4. Science and knowledge

explorers might travel to find a


cure of a disease. Or learn about
new things that are happening in
another place, and to understand
how this world works.
5. Adventure, fame and challenge:

many explorers want an adventure to test their limits and show


what they can do, they also want their names to be written in
history for doing something no one else has done.
