CREATING A VIDEO SCRIPT

A video script is a written plan for what will be said, shown, and heard in a
video. It helps keep the video clear, engaging, and organized.
Steps to Create a Video Script
1. Define the Purpose
Ask:
❖​ What is the video about?
❖​ Is it to inform, teach, entertain, or promote something?
Example: Explaining a science concept, promoting a product, or telling a story.
2. Know Your Audience
Decide:
❖​ Who will watch the video? (kids, teens, adults, beginners, experts)
❖​ What language and tone should you use? (simple, formal, fun)

3. Write the Hook (Beginning)


❖​ The first 5–10 seconds should grab attention.
❖​ Ask a question
❖​ Share a surprising fact
❖​ Show a problem
Example: “Did you know your phone has more power than the computers used to
land on the moon?”
4. Write the Main Content (Middle)
❖​ Explain your main points clearly.
❖​ Break ideas into small sections
❖​ Use simple sentences
❖​ Add examples or visuals
Tip: One main idea per scene or paragraph.
5. Add Visual & Audio Notes
Include:
❖​ What appears on screen (text, images, actions)
❖​ Sound effects or background music
❖​ Camera notes (optional)
Example:
Visual: Animation of solar system
Audio: Calm background music
6. End with a Clear Closing
❖​ Wrap up with:
❖​ A summary
❖​ A message
❖​ A call to action (like, subscribe, try this, think about this)
