Why is Micro-teaching important when talking

about Reflective Teaching?

According to my opinion, the most important part of microteaching is the objective and realistic
feedback we receive through video recordings. By watching ourselves teach, we can identify
blind spots and unconscious habits that might otherwise go unnoticed and might interfere in
our students' learning process. This awareness helps us make better decisions, reinforce what
we do well, and change what does not work and make some adjustments in our future lesson
plans

As teachers, microteaching provides valuable information about what works and what does not
work in our daily teaching. It helps us observe our strengths and weaknesses. This ongoing cycle
of teaching, reflecting, and re-teaching helps us to become more flexible to our students’ real
needs. Through reflection, we can grow both as professionals.

To be honest, I have never practiced microteaching in my classes, but it is something I want to


implement in the Institute where I work here in Ilo City. From my point of view, I teach my
lessons the best way I can; however, I have never observed myself. I realize that by doing so, I
can identify areas for improvement. I really want to know which aspects I can change to adjust
my teaching in the best way possible

I know that teaching is an ongoing cycle because we are never-ending students. It is a process
of learning, re-learning, and reflecting on our teaching practices. I always try to be my best
version in each class, and teaching English is my passion. I want to do this for the rest of my life.
