Full Stack Designer Task

The objective of this assignment is to assess the extent and scope of your strategic
thinking as a Full Stack Designer to help accelerate Praan's mission. While these
questions are concise and straightforward, we expect that your responses will
demonstrate your capacity for critical analysis, marketing expertise, and creativity.

Background

Praan is a mission driven company. The brand building activities for mission-driven
companies is unique in the manner that it is multi-layered - catering different messages to
different audiences while building an overcall company profile. Praan uniquely operates
between the Bay Area (Silicon Valley) and India where it gets to maximize the best of both
worlds in order to pursue its mission. The company is also attempting to solve one of the most
widespread yet nuanced challenges in the world - access to good air quality. While everyone
acknowledges the problem, few consider it a priority to want to spend money. The industrial
clients that Praan services get away with having extremely poor air quality (sometimes 23x
worse than the worst day in Delhi) because the problems in their factories are hidden from the
outside world. This poor air quality affects more than 1 Million low-wage workers in India
alone, every day. Praan manufactures its products entirely in Mumbai city, with 95% of the
raw material also being sourced locally.

Products

1. MKII: Filterless Air Purification and Monitoring System deployed in industrial sites to make
factories safer, healthier, and compliant.

2. HIVE: Commercial Scale, Indoor Air Purification and Environmental Monitoring System
deployed in commercial spaces to deliver hyperlocal air quality improvement in very large
indoor spaces.

3. SES: Spatial and Environmental Sensing Platform used to map environmental conditions
across very large spaces (Factories, cities) and automatically develop solutions on how to
solve that problem floor by floor, street by street.

Access

Praan is fortunate to have raised capital from top-tier investors from almost every continent in
the world. These are investors from the startup world, corporate banking, film making, talent
management, architecture, sustainability, media, and industries, enabling Praan to access
news outlets, social media influencers, actors, top tier venture capital, operations, and debt
from around the world.

Task 1:

Praan’s HIVE currently caters to the HNI and uHNI segment of customers in India. These are
prospective buyers for whom the cost of the product doesn’t matter, but they need to be sold
on the idea of lifestyle upgrade that comes with owning this product. Currently, all the air
purifiers in the world simply show AQI/Specific pollutant numbers and graphs on a screen.
However, these are difficult to understand for the layperson since they don’t know what
PPM/PPB mean. In order to simplify this, Praan has introduced an AR feature in its app, that
pulls data from the HIVE, but instead of showcasing this in graphs and numbers, the customer
can simply click on “See my room” and it pulls up a real-time camera view of the room and
projects the right amount of particles or gasses onto the screen, such that the user can actually
see the pollutants floating around in the room.

Create a page in the HIVE brochure (assume desktop view) that shows this feature in a single
image including an aesthetic room, the HIVE, and a phone screen with the projected pollutants.

Task 2:

While the current app and interface is useful for most users, our customers who are busy or not
tech savvy find the app to be a barrier in using the product every day. Keeping Praan’s product
design and aesthetics in mind, if you were to design a physical interface device which interacts
with the HIVE, what would it be? We want to make sure most relevant app features are present
in it, but it is very easy, available, and does not require technical skills to operate.

1. List which features you chose to remove and why

2. Draw a concept for what this physical interface would be, explain why it is the way it is
succinctly
3. Create a CAD model and render the same (render could be of the product or incontext)

Task 3:

The MKII product has a large sized front and back stainless steel panel which is empty.
Advertisement displays and panels can be attached to the same so that these devices can be
placed at airports/malls/train stations, etc. and generate revenue for the customer who has
installed it. For this task, demonstrate what ad panel you would add, and create an in context
render of 3-4 MKII devices with ad panels being placed in any public space.
Best of Luck!
