TOPIC 1: PEOPLE

Today I’m going to talk about the person I love most in my family-my
grandmother. She is over 80 years old. She has long white hair with beautiful
blue eyes, and even though she’s older, her teeth are still strong and healthy.
This is probably because she has a habit of chewing betel and areca nuts,
which is a tradition she’s kept up for years.
I’ve lived with her since I was born, so we have a very close bond. She’s
someone I can talk to about anything-whether it’s school, my friendships or
any problems I’m facing. Not only does she always listen to me, but she also
gives me the best advice from her own life experiences. In many ways, she’s
like both a mother and a friend to me.
Whenever she shares food, she saves the best parts for me, and I always get a
bit more than everyone else. It makes me feel really loved and appreciated.
Besides that, she’s an amazing cook. My favorite dish she makes is minced
meat-it’s a taste of my childhood, and I’ll never forget its unique flavor.
Sometimes, I get a bit annoyed when she talks to me too much, especially
when she repeats advice or worries about me. But after I think about it, I
realize how much she cares, and it only makes me love her more. She’s truly
the best part of my life, and I can’t imagine how I’d live without her. I love her
so much, and my love for her is something that no words can express.

TOPIC 2: HOLIDAYS
Today, I’m going to talk about my last holiday. It was three months ago when I
went to Ha Long for three days with my friends. At first, we planned to go for
only two days, but on the last day, we decided to stay one more day because
we didn’t have enough time to explore in the first two days.
The holiday didn’t start very well because the weather was bad—it was rainy
and cloudy. We couldn’t go anywhere, so we just stayed in the hotel. However,
a day later, when the storm passed, the sky cleared up, and the weather was
lovely. Finally, we were able to get out of the room!
We went to a beach called Bai Chay, which was beautiful and refreshing(nice).
We sunbathed, built sandcastles, and collected seashells—it was so much fun!
At night, we went to a coffee shop for some drinks and took a lot of photos.
We took hundreds of pictures, and our phones got overloaded and ran out of
battery.
On the last day, we visited Sunworld Ha Long and had a great time at the water
park. In the afternoon, we went back home, and everyone was exhausted.
However, it was such a memorable holiday, and we were all so happy.

TOPIC 5: TOWNS AND CITIES

I am living and studying in Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam. I moved here two
months ago to attend university. Hanoi is famous for its historical places,
delicious food, and busy streets. However, the air quality is not very good due
to heavy traffic, which often leads to traffic jams, especially during rush hours.
On the other hand, Hanoi has peaceful moments too, especially in the early
mornings. The streets are less crowded and the air feels fresher. As a top food
destination in the world, Hanoi offers many dishes you must try, such as pho,
banh mi, bun dau mam tom, and bun cha,,, I haven’t tried all of the dishes yet,
but I plan to explore more of Hanoi's cuisine.
Hanoi is also known for its famous tourist destinations, like Hoan Kiem Lake,
the Temple of Literature, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (which makes it an
unforgettable city to explore). I remember visiting the Temple of Literature and
the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum with my classmates in sixth grade – it was an
unforgettable trip. People in Hanoi are generally friendly and generous, though
they can sometimes be a bit impatient. Despite this, I really like Hanoi and look
forward to spending more time exploring this vibrant city.
Aside from the food, Hanoi is home to many famous landmarks, such as Hoan
Kiem Lake, the Temple of Literature, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. I still
remember visiting the Temple of Literature and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
with my classmates in sixth grade. It was an unforgettable trip that gave me a
deeper appreciation for the city's cultural heritage. People here are generally
friendly and generous, though they can be a bit impatient in busy settings.
Despite this, I truly enjoy living in Hanoi, and I look forward to spending more
time discovering all that this lively city has to offer.

BONUS QUESTIONS:
1, Vậy trong tương lai, em có muốn tiếp tục học tập, sống và làm việc tại Hà Nội
không?
Yes, because Hanoi has many job opportunities and is an ideal place for me to
develop myself. But honestly, I still want to live in my hometown because it is
peaceful and comfortable. Hanoi is too crowded and cramped(chật chội).

TOPIC 3: SHOPPING
Today, I’d like to talk about shopping, which is something I enjoy. I usually shop
in both local stores and online, and I find each way has its own benefits and
drawbacks. Shopping in-store is not only fun but also can feel safer than
shopping online because I can try things on and see the quality in person which
makes me feel more confident in my purchase. Also, in-store shopping can be a
fun experience on its own—I get to walk around, explore different shops, and
sometimes discover items I wasn’t even looking for. However, it can be quite
time-consuming, especially if the stores are crowded or located far away. On
the other hand, online shopping is more convenient because I can shop
anytime, from anywhere, whether it’s at home, during a commute, or on
vacation. It’s especially useful when I have a busy schedule because I don’t
need to take time out of my day to go to the store. Online shopping also allows
you to quickly compare prices from different websites, helping you find the
best deal. I often take advantage of sales and discounts when I shop online,
which adds to the excitement and helps me save money. However, one of the
drawbacks of online shopping is that I can’t actually see or touch the items
before buying them, which can be tricky. Sometimes, the product I receive isn’t
quite what I expected. Sometimes it takes longer for the products to arrive,
which can be particularly unhelpful when you need something urgently.
Despite these challenges, I usually choose online shopping because I don't
have much time to shop in stores. Both ways of shopping have their place, so
in the future, I think I’ll continue shopping both ways, depending on the
situation and what I need.

BONUS QUESTIONS:
I often buy things online through apps like shoppe or Instagram
I spend a lot of money on shopping, because shopping really makes me happy and
there are so many beautiful things I want to buy. And after buying them, I almost
don't feel sorry, because it's really good quality and useful.
1, Vậy em đã bao giờ mua một món đồ online mà không dùng được chưa?

TOPIC 4: HEALTH
My daily routine is so unhealthy. I only go to school three days a week, so on
the other days, I mostly stay in my room. On those days, I just eat and sleep
without doing any exercise, and I don’t even go outside. I think part of the
reason for this routine is that I often feel tired or stressed, so I don’t feel
motivated to go out or exercise. If I don’t have to go to school the next day, I
stay up late until 1 or 2 a.m. This routine has started to affect my health—I’m
getting more acne (ˈaknē – ác’k nì) and often feel tired and low on energy. It
also impacts my mental health, as staying indoors makes me feel isolated (ˈīsə
ˌlādəd – ài sờ lây đựt). I also don’t eat much—some days I only eat dinner,
skipping breakfast and lunch because I sleep in and don’t feel hungry. I know
this routine is unhealthy, so I’m trying to make some positive changes. To
improve, I’m setting a goal to go to bed by midnight, even on days when I don’t
have school. I’ll start with small exercises, like stretching in the morning or
maybe going for a short walk outside to get some fresh air. I also want to get
back to eating three meals a day, so I have enough energy throughout the day.
I also want to learning something new to make better use of my free time.
After all, health is something money can’t buy, so I want to take better care of
it.

Good health is really important to me because it helps me succeed in school

and enjoy life. By making these changes, I hope to feel happier, more focused,
and more connected with others. I’ve already started going to bed a little
earlier, and I feel like I have a bit more energy in the morning. Even a small
change makes a difference, and I’m encouraged to keep improving. After all,
health is something money can’t buy, so I want to take better care of it.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

1, Cô hỏi vậy em có ý định đi làm thêm không?

At the moment, I don’t have a plan to work more, but I’m considering it in the
future. I think I will start working part-time in the second semester. I want to
use this first semester to get used to everything, like my studies and daily
routine, before taking on a job. I might look for a part-time job to help with my
expenses or gain more experience. However, I also want to make sure I
balance it well with my studies.
