PHYSICS PROJECT WRITE-UP (JUNIOR SCHOOL)

Project Title

Simple Electric Circuit – Lighting a Bulb

Name of Student

School

Class

Subject

Physics

Teacher

Date
1. Introduction

Physics is the branch of science that deals with energy, forces, and how
things work. Electricity is an important part of physics and is used in our
daily lives at home, in school, and in hospitals. This project is about a simple
electric circuit that can light a bulb.

2. Aim of the Project

To make a simple electric circuit and show how electricity flows to light a
bulb.

3. Materials Required

Dry cell battery

Small electric bulb

Bulb holder
Connecting wires

Switch (optional)

Insulating tape

4. Theory

An electric circuit is a complete path through which electric current flows. For
a bulb to light, the circuit must be closed. Electricity flows from the positive
terminal of the battery through the wires and the bulb, then back to the
negative terminal of the battery.

5. Procedure

1. Fix the bulb into the bulb holder.

2. Connect one wire from the positive terminal of the battery to the bulb
holder.
3. Connect another wire from the bulb holder to the switch.

4. Connect a wire from the switch back to the negative terminal of the
battery.

5. Close the switch to complete the circuit.

6. Observation

When the switch is turned on, the bulb lights up. When the switch is turned
off, the bulb goes off.

7. Result

The bulb lights only when the circuit is complete. This shows that electricity
flows only in a closed circuit.

8. Conclusion
A simple electric circuit can be made using a battery, wires, and a bulb.
Electricity needs a closed path to flow and produce light.

9. Applications

Lighting bulbs in homes

Torches

Electrical appliances

10. Safety Precautions

Do not use damaged wires

Do not connect the battery terminals directly

Switch off the circuit when not in use

11. Acknowledgement

I thank my teacher and parents for helping me to complete this project

successfully.
