Hello, Class! How are you today?
Today, we are going to talk about a very important topic that affects all of us — Environmental
Pollution.
Before we start, can anyone tell me an example of pollution you’ve seen around your home or
school?
(Wait for 1–2 students to answer briefly.)
Good! Now, let’s learn more about it.
B. Main Activity (8–10 minutes)
Teacher:
First, let’s understand what pollution means.
Pollution is the process of making the environment dirty or harmful, usually caused by human
activities.
It can affect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and even the land we live on.
There are several types of environmental pollution.
1. Air Pollution – caused by harmful gases from vehicles, factories, or burning trash.
It can cause breathing problems and global warming.
2. Water Pollution – happens when waste, oil, or chemicals are dumped into rivers,
lakes, or the sea. It kills fish and makes water unsafe to drink.
3. Land Pollution – caused by littering, excessive plastic use, and poor waste
management. It damages soil and affects plants and animals.
4. Noise Pollution – from loud vehicles, factories, or construction. It disturbs
humans and animals, causing stress or hearing problems.
Now, what are the main causes of pollution?
Most of them come from human activities — such as using fossil fuels, deforestation, throwing
waste carelessly, and industrial processes.
Even small habits like using too many plastic bags or wasting electricity also contribute to
pollution.
So, what can we do to solve this problem?
We can reduce, reuse, and recycle our waste.
We can also plant more trees, use public transportation, and save energy by turning off lights
when not in use.
Remember, protecting the environment means protecting our future.
The Earth is our home, and it’s our duty to keep it clean and safe.
C. Student Task (3–5 minutes)

Now, it’s your turn to do an activity!
Please choose one type of pollution — air, water, land, or noise — and write a short paragraph
that explains:
1. What causes that type of pollution,
2. What are its effects on humans or nature, and
3. What solutions you can suggest.
After you finish, you will present your paragraph in front of the class.
Try to speak clearly, confidently, and use your own words.
Your writing shows your understanding, and your speaking shows how you express your ideas.
