JULIUS CAESAR
The drama portrays the tragic events in the life of Julius
Caesar the great ruler of Rome Shakespeare’s work
permeated Christian values and ethics presenting to you
Julius Caesar.
On the 15th of March 44 BC the dictator Julius Caesar
was murdered by his senators It was not a fiction, it is a
historical fact.
Julius Caesar, who recently became the dictator of the
Roman Empire, roused jealousy and anger in the minds
of a few senators.
[Mark Antony Enters]
Mark Antony: I am Mark Antony, the Statesman of
Rome. There was once a king long long ago was an
emperor he would seize what is so mighty powerful
Julius Caesar.

Mark Antony: I was a true friend of Julius Caesar.
When you hear Julius Caesar, what comes to your
mind? A soldier? A villain? A statesman? Or a hero? He
was murdered mercilessly. 23 wounds of stabs Ah!!! I
call you. I call you friends, Romans and countrymen.
Lend me. Lend me your ears. Bear the heart of a Roman
and see. See what happened to Julius Caesar. [Looking

[Mark Antony Exits]
[Female background voice] Beware of the Ides of
March.
[Brutus and Cassius Enters]
Brutus, a noble senator, meets Cassius and other
conspirators. He decides to join them. Cassius and
others are full of jealousy and mistress to Caesar’s
power. But Brutus is only concerned about the common
good.
Cassius: Why Brutus? Why do I feel that you are
avoiding my company?
Brutus: No Cassius, you are one of my few friends. But
it’s true, I am disturbed these days.
Cassius: In that case, good Brutus, I know that you are
holding yourself. You are hiding your good qualities.
[Noises of Crowd “Caesar”]
Brutus: I’m afraid people choose Caesar to be their
king.
Cassius : Brutus, I know you. You work and strive for
Rome. But why this difference? We were born equal.
[Noises of Crowd “Caesar”]
Cassius: Why should Caesar be given the place of a
god? He is such a weak person. It amazes me, why
should such a weak man appear as a victor? Brutus, you
are capable of leading Rome and take her to its senate
of Saxus. You are capable. And Caesar will have to die.
Brutus: Cassius!
Cassius: The tyrant should die. Restore liberty. I have
called the senators here to discuss and decide Caesar’s
murder.
Cassius: Here they come.
[Entering Trebonius, Decius,Casca, Cinna, and
Metellus Cimber]
Trebonius : Have we come too early?
Brutus : Do I know these men?
Cassius : This is Trebonius. Dacius. Casca. Cinna.
Metellus cimber.
Brutus : You all are welcome here.
Decius : Caesar is ambitious. A tyrant dictator.
Cinna : Shall we kill only Caesar? Let Anthony and
Caesar die together.
Brutus : No, no need. Our actions will go too violent.
Anthony is only a limb of Caesar. What the limb can do
if the head is removed?
Cassius: Caesar must bleed. Let’s kill him, but not
angrily. We should be called as healers, not murderers.
[Clock sound]
Trebonius: The clock has struck three. It’s time to
disperse. We will all bring Caesar home.
Cassius: Give me your hands at a time and let’s swear
our loyalty. Bring Caesar out by 8 o’clock. Morning is
coming. We will leave you Brutus.
Brutus: Good gentlemen, let not our appearance reveal
what we are planning to do.
Cassius: Yes, good Brutus.
[ Female voice on background]
Conspirators leave after plotting a plan to murder
Caesar on the Ides of March. They knew well, if Caesar
is not killed on 15th March, they’ll never be able to do it
for years. And there, at Caesar’s house, Calpurnia, his
wife, had nightmares of holding Caesar’s dead body in
her arms.
[Julius Caesar Enters]
Caesar: No heaven and no earth have peace tonight.
Thrice have Calpurnia in her sleep cried out, Help,
help! They murder Caesar. Who’s within?
Servant : My lord!
Caesar : Go with the priest, do present sacrifices, and
bring me their opinions of success.
Servant: I will, my lord
Calpurnia: What mean you Caesar? Do you think to
walk forth? You shall not move out of your house today.
Caesar : Caesar shall go. The things that threatened me
never stood before me. When they see the face of
Caesar, they are vanished.
Calpurnia : Caesar, I never stood on ceremonies, yet
know they frighten me. There is something within. I do
fear nightmares.
Caesar : Cowards die many times before their death.
The valiant never taste of death, but once. How can men
fear, Calpurnia?
Servant: My lord.
Caesar : What did the priests say?
Servant: They said you should not move from the
house.
Caesar: No, Caesar shall move. Danger knows very
well that Caesar is more dangerous than him. So, I shall
go forth.
Calpurnia: Alas, my lord, do not go forth today. You
can tell it my fear that keeps you in this house and not
your own. We shall send Mark Antony to the senate
house and he shall say that you are not well today. Let
me upon my knee beg you this.
Caesar: All right. Mark Antony will say that I am not
well. And just for your wish, I’ll stay at home.
[Decius Enters]
Caesar : Here comes Decius. He shall tell them.
Decius: oh hail mighty Caesar. I have come to fetch
you to the Senate House.
Caesar: Oh, you have come in a happy time to bear my
greetings to the senators and tell them that I shall not
come today.
Decius: Good mighty Caesar, tell me the matter why
you’re not coming, so that I can laugh at it when I tell
them.
Caesar : Calpurnia had a nightmare in which she saw
Caesar’s statue showering pure blood and a few men
washing their hands in it.
Decius : Oh mighty Caesar, it’s just a dream which is
misjudged. Caesar, do you know the Senate has
concluded? They have decided to give you the crown.
And if you send a word that you don’t come, their mind
may change.
Caesar: How foolish do your fears seem, Calpurnia! I
am ashamed that I did yield to them. Give me my rouge
for I will go.
[Background voice] Caesar had rejected Calpurnia’s
request and went forward to the capital to meet the
senators to accept their decision to crown him as a king
of the whole Roman territory.
[Senate house]
[Brutus, Cassius, Trebonius, Dacius, Casca, Cinna,
Metellus cimber and Caesar Entering]
Caesar: Good friends, go and taste some wine. We
shall go forth like friends. Is there something missing?
Metellus cimber: Most high, most mighty, most
powerful Caesar, Metellus Cimber throws before thy
seat a humble heart. And request for forgiving my
brother, Publius Cimber. I will not be accepting thy
request, dear Cimber.
Caesar: I will not be accepting thy request, dear
Cimber. You should know that Caesar does not go
wrong, nor without cause will be satisfied.
Metellus cimber: So there is no sweet words for me,
Caesar, for my banished brother?
Brutus: I kiss thy hand, but not in flatteries, Caesar,
desiring that Publius cimber may have immediate
freedom.
Caesar: What, Brutus?
Brutus: Pardon, Caesar, pardon. As low as to thy foot..
Cassius, fall to beg for Publius cimber.
Caesar: Cassius, you should know that I’m constant as
the northern star. I’m firm in my decisions. Symbol
should be banished.
Brutus: Yeah, speak Caesar, speak.
[killing Caesar]
Caesar: You too, Brutus. My son
Brutus: Liberty. Freedom. Tyranny is dead. Flee. Only
Caesar will have to die. The tyrant is dead. We have
restored liberty. Long live liberty. The price of ambition
has paid.
[Mark Antony Enters]
Mark Antony : This is what happened to the mighty
Caesar. The one who brought money to Rome, who
wept the tears of the needy, the one who protected
Romans. Here he lies. O mighty Caesar, how low you
lie here. Are all thy conquests, glories, triumphs, spoils,
Shrunk to this little measure? Fare thee well.
