In the following work, we can observe a text that tells us about the
requirements that an American and a foreigner have when applying for a
driver's license, in the second point it asks us to introduce ourselves and
say the obligations and needs that we face daily in our position work, then
he tells us to interact with our group partners, then we will participate in
some workshops that improve our pronunciation and oral expression, we
will see this through a conference and finally we will fill out a self-
assessment.
Step 1: Reading comprehension exercise.

a. What is the main idea of the text?

Answer:

To fully understand the process of obtaining a driver's license in the


United States, one must familiarize themselves with the requirements
for teenagers, immigrants, and the tests involved.

b. What is the driving program's purpose when it demands to


pass the written test and the driving test?

Answer:

The driving program's purpose when it demands to pass the written


test and the driving test must to ensure that drivers have the
necessary knowledge and skills to operate a vehicle safely on the road.
The written must test assess the applicant's understanding before of
traffic signs, regulations, and basic mechanics, while the driving test
must evaluate their ability to navigate through difficult obstacles on
the road. Passing both tests is a requirement for obtaining a driver's
license in the United States.
c. Considering the requirements to have a driver’s license in
the USA, do you think we could apply the same
requirements in Colombia? Explain.

Answer:

In order to improve the licensing process in Colombia, it must be


considered to implement a more standardized and comprehensive
driver education program, which would help ensure that all drivers
have the same basic knowledge and Basic abilities, regardless of where
they live or driving school they attend. Although there may be
differences between the two countries, the requirements for obtaining
a driver's license in the USA must be studied as a useful model for
improving the licensing process in Colombia.

d. Write four obligations people must do to obtain a license of


residence in the
United States.

Answer:
1. People must attend a driver's educational program.
2. People must pass a full medical examination and an eye
test.
3. People must pass a written test on traffic signs, regulations,
basic mechanics, and first aid.
4. People must pass a driving test through a series of difficult
obstacles on the road.

Step 2: Writing obligations and necessities.

Answer:

Hello, my name is Luis Felipe Rodriguez Huila, I am from

Cali, I am 26 years old. I job in Pollos Bucaneros, I have

been jobbing with the company for one month, I am a

technologist in industrial electricity and I am studying

electronic engineering; I am comfortable as mutual

respect, collaboration, open communication, teamwork,

and flexibility are encouraged, and the work well done is

recognized and rewarded.


My daily obligations are: 1. Upon arriving at the workshop, I must ask

my colleagues from the previous shift what events occurred during that

shift. 2. I have to take a tour of the entire company to verify that all

the machines are working properly. 3. I have to go to the substation to

take the data from the energy meters and write them down in a

notebook, and then hand them over to an energy analyst. 4. I have to

do some energy tests in the power plant, since when the power goes

out in the company, the plant turns on and supplies energy to the

company. 5. I have to make an inventory of the spare parts that we

have in the workshop. 6. I have to accompany the companies that are

contractors, when they are going to intervene some machine or

electrical equipment. 7. I have to report all anomalies out of my scope

to my immediate boss, so that he hires or sends more qualified

personnel for this task. 8. I have to perform preventive maintenance on

the machines that have been assigned to me. 9. I have to check the

refrigeration system, verifying that there are no leaks or air circulation


problems, so that the company remains in optimal climatic conditions.

10. I have to make a daily report of the situations that occurred during

my shift and inform both my colleagues and my direct boss.

daily necessities are: 1. I must participate in different projects which

help to improve the quality and work carried out by the company's

machines. 2. In some cases, I must report that the appropriate tool is

not available to solve certain labor needs. 3. I must deliver a report to

my direct boss about the security elements when they are running out

in the electrical department. 4. Before doing any work, I must apply

for a work permit in the area of safety and health at work, which

certifies that I can carry out said work. 5. I must separate the waste

that is inside the workshop into colored bags according to its category,

to deposit it in recycling and waste containers. 6. I must check that the

electric motors when they arrive at the company, either because they

are new or they were sent for repair, arrive in optimal conditions. 7. I
must keep the workshop clean when diagnosing any electrical

equipment, in order to avoid any possible incident or accident. 8. I

must industrial glasses, industrial helmet, ear plugs, all of this I use

within the company, as it helps protect me from different environmental

risks. 9. I must install the new security alarms as they help to have a

better reaction to a possible problem within the company. 10. I must

participate weekly in each of the trainings related to the new technology

that they plan to implement within the company. Activities: 1. I don't

have to spend my whole shift accompanying the contractors, because I

have other things to do too. 2. I don't have to constantly participate in

trainings 3. I must not every day to separate the waste since there are

certain dates for this work.

I talk about the various responsibilities of my job and I enjoy working in

an environment that values teamwork and recognizes good work.

Conclusion

In the next work we can see a text that tells us about the requirements that an
American and a foreigner have when applied for a driver's license, through this
text they will ask us a series of questions which we are going to answer and this
answer will our perspective before this text, then asks us to introduce ourselves
and say the obligations, needs and non-obligatory activities that we face on a
daily basis. in our workplace, then he tells us to interact with our colleagues on
the previous point, we will give feedback from people who have not used the
verb must and have; then we will participate in some workshops that improve
our pronunciation and oral expression, we will see this through a conference and
finally we will fill out a self-evaluation which we will carry out through our
participation in this activity.
