Slide 1 – Time, Speed & Distance Basics

Distance = Speed × Time

Speed = Distance ÷ Time
Time = Distance ÷ Speed
Units: Distance (km/m), Speed (km/h or m/s), Time (hours/seconds)

Slide 2 – Finding Distance

Formula: Distance = Speed × Time
Question: A car travels at 100 km/h for 3 hours. Find the distance.
Step 1: Distance = 100 × 3
Step 2: Distance = 300 km

Slide 3 – Finding Speed

Formula: Speed = Distance ÷ Time
Q1: 300 km in 3 hours → Speed = 300 ÷ 3 = 100 km/h
Q2: 420 km in 6 hours → Speed = 420 ÷ 6 = 70 km/h

Slide 4 – Finding Time

Formula: Time = Distance ÷ Speed
Q1: 300 km at 100 km/h → Time = 300 ÷ 100 = 3 hours
Q2: 240 km at 80 km/h → Time = 240 ÷ 80 = 3 hours

Slide 5 – Average Speed

Case 1 (Equal Distance): Avg Speed = (2 × S1 × S2) / (S1 + S2)
Example: (2×40×60)/(40+60) = 48 km/h
Case 2 (Unequal Distance): Avg Speed = Total Distance ÷ Total Time
Example: 300 km ÷ 4 hrs = 75 km/h

Slide 6 – Unit Conversion

1 m/s = 18/5 km/h
1 km/h = 5/18 m/s
20 m/s = 72 km/h
90 km/h = 25 m/s
Slide 7 – Train Crossing a Pole
Distance = Length of Train
200 m train crosses pole in 10 s
Speed = 200 ÷ 10 = 20 m/s = 72 km/h

Slide 8 – Train Crossing a Bridge

Distance = Train Length + Bridge Length
150 m + 350 m = 500 m
Speed = 500 ÷ 20 = 25 m/s = 90 km/h
