T2 Worksheet #1 – Input devices
Task 1
1. Describe one disadvantage of using QR codes.
2. Describe the purpose of the three large squares at the corners of the QR code.
Extension:
A square QR code contains 40 × 40 tiny squares (pixels) where each tiny square
represents a 0 or a 1. Calculate how many bytes of data can be stored on the QR code.

Task 4
Complete the description using words from the given list
Extension:
A digital camera captures an image by converting light into binary codes. Drag the
following steps into the correct order to describe the process.
A. A shutter is opened to allow light to enter the camera through the lens.
B. An analogue to digital converter turns each pixel's colour value into binary form.
C. The light coming from the lens is diverted to an image sensor at the back of the
camera.
D. The colour of the pixel at each photosensitive point is determined by using a Bayer
filter (an array of red, blue, and green filters).
E. The image sensor records the intensity of light at each photosensitive point.
F. The image is saved. A compression algorithm can be used to reduce the size of the
file.
