Halloween

Please note the following regarding wearing costumes on Halloween Dress Up Day:

∙ Dressing up in costume is optional. Students who do not wear a costume can simply
dress in their school uniform if that is their preference. Those are the only two
options on that day. Students are not allowed to accessorize the school uniform or
simply dress down for the day (e.g. you will NOT be allowed to wear jeans and a t-
shirt to depict a public school student, an ND student out of dress code, etc.).
∙ All dress code rules for dances also apply to Halloween (see below). ∙ No full-
face masks are allowed as part of the costume. Halloween-themed Covid masks will
be permitted. Hair coloring is permitted as well.
∙ Absolutely no weapons of any kind (fake or otherwise) will be permitted at school.
Any such items brought to school will be confiscated and kept in the office until they
can be picked up by a parent/legal guardian. Students who bring them will receive a
consequence.
∙ Keep in mind when selecting a costume that we are a Catholic community. While it
is not always easy, we seek to find a balance between not taking ourselves too
seriously and having fun with trying to manage what is and isn’t appropriate for our
school. If you are not sure…ASK first!
∙ Finally, students are not allowed to bring any firecrackers or fireworks to
school. Students who do so will face a consequence that will include a
suspension and possible loss of extra-curricular privileges.
