Ecommerce Guide

🧾 GET A GST NUMBER (15-DIGIT) — FIRST STEP

STEP 1
Go to GST official portal → Register → New Registration

STEP 2
Fill basic details:

● PAN
● Mobile number (OTP verification)
● Email ID (OTP verification)

STEP 3
Enter business details:

● Business type: Proprietorship


● Business name: Your brand name or your own name
● Nature of business: Retail / Online selling

STEP 4
Upload required documents and submit the application

STEP 5
GST officer may call or do online verification
After approval → You receive GSTIN (15-digit GST number) ✅

STEP 6: BANK ACCOUNT


● Open or use a bank account
● Bank account name must match GST business name
● Same PAN as GST

STEP 7: PREPARE BUSINESS BASICS


Keep ready:

● Brand name
● Logo (simple is fine)
● Product photos (front, back, model)
● Size chart (very important for clothing)
● Packaging material (polybag + invoice)

STEP 8: REGISTER ON E-COMMERCE PLATFORMS


Sell on:

● Amazon
● Flipkart
● Meesho
● Ajio
● Myntra (apply later)

You’ll need:

● GSTIN
● PAN
● Bank details
● Pickup address

STEP 9: CREATE PRODUCT LISTINGS


For each T-shirt:

● Product title
● 5 bullet points
● Full description
● Fabric, GSM, fit
● Correct size chart
● 4–6 clear images

STEP 10: PRICING (WITH GST)


● Keep T-shirt price below ₹1,000
● GST rate = 5%
● Include platform fees + shipping + profit

STEP 11: SHIPPING & RETURNS


● Enable COD
● Use platform-handled shipping
● Set size exchange policy (reduces returns)

STEP 12: START GETTING SALES (NO ADS FIRST)


● Share links on WhatsApp
● Post on Instagram
● Ask friends for first orders & reviews
● Start with Meesho + Flipkart, then Amazon
