This essay aims to look study the life of Esbjorn Svenson, as well as the career of his
project The Esbjorn Svenson Trio and their effect on popular music and jazz. This will be done
through the light of various sources including:
album reviews, harmonic analysis of solo playing, documentary of Esbjorn Svenson, news
articles on the reception of The Esbjorn Svenson Trio, as well as an Obituary posted shortly after
his death in 2008.
