Muscle Workout Script

By Elyse Pieratt and Mona Wojcik

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Fit in Five, the workout that gets you stronger without making you
sore the rest of the week! I’m your trainer today, and we’re going to move through five awesome
exercises that target your whole body!

Let’s start with a basic P.E. exercise: jumping jacks! Do these for 30 seconds. Ready, go! This exercise
works your quads, shoulders, hamstrings, calves, core, and a lot of others! These are important
because they exercise lots of different muscles, and gets your heart rate pumping and ready to
move on to our next exercise!

Next we have squats. You’ll want to put your feet shoulder width apart and try to sit in a chair! Not
an actual one, of course, but we’ll pretend. You’ll want to do 15 reps of these. This works your
quads, glutes, core, and hamstrings. This matters because squats strengthen your legs, hips, and
core, all of which help with running, walking, or even just climbing your stairs!

Next up we have push ups. 8 to 12 reps will give you a great workout, but be sure to have your
hands under your shoulders and keep your body in a straight line to ensure you get a good
workout! Push-ups do a great job at working out the chest, triceps, shoulders, and core! If you are
someone that plays an instrument in orchestra or sits in class all day, then this is super helpful to
do since push-ups build upper body strength and support posture.

We are almost done! We have one more after this but for right now get on your elbows, and don’t
let your hips drop! We are going to hold a plank for 20-30 seconds. This may feel terrible but this is
an amazing workout for the abdominals, lower back, and shoulders! Hold it for just a bit longer!
This workout makes your core stronger which is very helpful with balance and protecting the spine.
And it will reduce injury during sports and daily activities!

Finally, we have lunges! What you’ll want to do is step forward and bend both knees and keep your
chest up. This exercise works your glutes, quads, calves, and hamstrings. Do these 15 times. Getting
a leg day in! Lunges help you with walking and stepping coordination, and leg strength! Both of
these help boost your running skills.

Conclusion:
And that’s your Fit in Five! Remember: you don’t have to work out extremely hard to be in shape.
Just stay consistent!
Catchy Sign-Off:
“Train smart, move your heart, and give every day a strong start!”
