Some people believe it is a waste of time for people to plan for the future, and it is more

important to focus on the present. Do you agree or disagree?

Many individuals are of the belief that planning for the future is not worth the time spent on
it, and concentrating on the present is better. Although this viewpoint holds merit, I am
opposed to this perspective for many reasons that are explained in this essay.

First and foremost, there are many indispensable factors in making long-term plans. First,
without an apparent scheme, people can struggle to adopt career paths and education. Also,
they will encounter financial difficulties to meet eligibility standards, such as rent costs and
electricity prices. Second, setting a long-term plan helps to manage time and endeavors
effectively. Therefore, by preparing a potential plan for the future, people can make a
precise decision when facing a dilemma, thus risks of failure can be minimized. Third,
individuals can be affected by spontaneous emotions. Unless people prepare for long-term
tragedies, they make decisions based on temporary thought, leading to perpetuate failures.
Hence, neglecting future planning may create a short-term interest but lead to persistent
challenges. For instance, people who plan carefully for a career in the future have job
opportunities and a stable income.

On the other hand, focusing on the current is also necessary. Without a doubt, a short-term
mindset reduces pressure and improves well-being. Furthermore, quality of life is enhanced.
For example, people who seek temporary jobs can receive salaries immediately within a few
months, and do not require expertise. In contrast, a long-term career with stable income
requires high qualifications and other certificates. However, people who concentrate on the
present are not able to tackle challenges in the future.

In conclusion, although it is pivotal to focus on the present, I strongly believe that planning
for the future is significant, as it determines long-term success. Instead of concentrating on
one of the two options, individuals should have further perspectives on this issue
