Chapter 5
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Chapter 5 contains the research summary, conclusion and recommendation
of the whole research. The findings of the study without so much detailed information
are written in the summary. Generalization and the other interferences would seen in
the conclusion while the recommendation of the researchers to the beneficiaries of this
study can also be seen in this chapter. Generally, this chapter aims to cover-up the end
result of the study.
Summary
1. As the increase of the temperature of the atmosphere continues due to many
reasons such as climate change, deforest station, carbon emission,
greenhouse gasses, urbanization, etc. therefore the rise of the atmospheric
temperature can also increase the heat index that students experience. As
school classrooms often lack sufficient ventilation and cooling system, the
long exposure in heat became unbearable.
2. The students are given questionnaire about their experience in studying under
extreme heat index in classroom. As the researcher examining the data
provided by the participant of the study, they have observed that most of the
answer given of the participant have negative effect in there studying. The
result of the high index in classroom to the students cause them to loss focus
or concentration, feel uncomfortable, excessive sweating, feeling drowsy,
feeling lazy or lethargic, difficulty in doing task, affect mood and interest,
health problems, etc. Therefore, the result proves there is negative
relationship between high temperature and academics performances of
students.
3. The Effects of Heat Index in School Classrooms as the researcher have
conducted their study and found out that students have a hard time studying
school classrooms because of the high heat index and sometimes cause
fainting of the students. Hence schools head should address the problem
caused by the high heat index as soon as possible.
Conclusion
1. The researcher concludes that the higher the heat index the student that
experience the more severe the effects of it to the students. Because of the
high heat index, it can affect students their Intellectual effort, rule oriented
effort, psychological well-being, and their physical health.
2. The researcher concludes that most of the effect of high heat index are
negative as the respond of the respondent of the research are mostly are
negative as school classroom lack the sufficient ventilation and cooling
system.
3. The researcher concludes that the effect of the high heat index needed to be
solve as soon as possible as the heat index is still increasing as of today, as
the effect of heat index can lead to disability or even death.
Recommendations
Contains the recommendation of the researcher that is addressed to the concern
listed on the statement of the study written on Chapter 1
1. The researcher recommends that the heat index reduced in classrooms as
soon as possible as it has numerous negative effects.
2. Decrease the number of students in one class as the crowding of people can
increase in heat index in the classroom
3. The researcher recommends that the school suspend classes if the heat
index is too high to endure for the students, teachers, and non-teaching
personnel.
4. The researcher recommends to use renewable energy as the electric
consumption is high due to many usages of many cooling appliances
5. The researcher recommends that schools to encourage their students to drink
plenty of water throughout the day even if they are not feeling thirsty.
6. The researcher recommends school to provide drinkable water in the school
ground as the students need to drink plenty of water.
7. The researcher recommends training the school staff to recognize and
respond to heat-related emergencies
8. The researcher recommends that school educate students in the heat-related
disease and emergencies and what to do when this happened
