1. Describe a graph showing the number of people using the internet from the year 2014 to 2018

Answer : The graph shows data on the number of internet users in Bangladesh from 2014 to
2018. At a glance, we see here a growing trend of internet users every year.
From the given information of the graph in 2014, only 12% of the people used the internet. This
figure gradually rose to 18% in 2015. This increasing trend continues even in the next years as
well. The percentage of internet users was 18% in 2015 and 25% in 2016 respectively. From 2017
to 2018 there was also a steady increase in the number of internet users and the percentages
were 33% and 50% respectively. Among the other mentioned years, a rapid increase is observed
from 2017 to 2018.
As the Internet enriches every aspect of human life, people become more interested in using the
Internet. This clause is equally applicable to Bangladesh. The steady increase in the number of
Internet users from 1914 to 18 in the chart supports this point.

Answer : The chart represents how the number of people living below the poverty line decreased
from the year 2000 to 2020. Overall the highest percentage was in 2005, and it accounted for
55%. The lowest percentage of people living below the poverty line was in the year 2020: 20%.
The graph shows that 40% of people used to live below the poverty line in 2000. The percentage
increased by 15% and reached 55% in 2005. But, we can notice a decreasing trend from 2010 to
2020. In 2010 the percentage made 50%. It was 5% less than the rate in the year 2005. In 2015
there is a decrease of 15% taking the percentage to 35%. The year 2000 experienced another
decrease of 15% and the percentage dropped to 20%. The graph reflects that percentage of the
people living below the poverty line decreased significantly with the passage of time.

Answer: The graph shows the literacy rate of Bangladesh over the years between 1972 and 2012.
At a glance, the graph shows that there has been significant growth in literacy over the period.
In 1972, the rate of literacy was only 50%. Within a span of fourth years, that is in 2012 the rate
becomes 80%. However, in the graph, we notice that the growth of literacy over the period does
not occur steadily. Even in some years, the rate falls from the previous. years or decades. We
notice that in 1982 the rate has an increase compared to its previous decade rate. In 1982 the
rate becomes 55%. In the next ten years, there is a further increase in the rate and in 1992 it
becomes 70%. But in the next years, that is from 1992 to 2002 the rate remains unchanged. After
2002 the literacy rate begins to decrease up till 2007. Thus, we find that in 2007 the literacy rate
decreases to 62%. But after 2007 the rate has a sharp growth, and in 2012 it jumps to 80%. It is
clear that though there is a decreasing trend between the years 2002 and 2007, the overall trend
is on the increase. Thus, it is found that within a span of fourth years the literacy rate increases
from 50% to 80% which is a very significant growth. Thus, the graph shows the trend of literacy
rate in Bangladesh from 1972 till 2012.

4. The graph below shows the choice of profession by differently educated people. Describe the

Answer: The graph shows the choice of profession by different educated people. According to
the graph, more than 60% of educated people choose Govt. job as their career. Business is liked
by 25% educated people, farming is chosen by 10% people and only 5% people like intellectual
work as their profession. Analyzing the graph, we see that most educated people’s choice is for
govt. job. Again, the least number of people like intellectual work as a choice of their professional
career. Compared to fanning and intellectual work more people like a business. Thus, we can say
that farming is liked by more people than that of intellectual work. Again, business is liked by
more people than that of farming. Again, Govt. job is liked by more people than that of business.
Therefore, serially from lower to higher these professional careers are intellectual work, farming,
business, and Govt. job.
