Full essay (band 9):

The table shows data about the underground rail networks in six major cities.
The table compares the six networks in terms of their age, size and the number of people who use them each
year. It is clear that the three oldest underground systems are larger and serve significantly more passengers
than the newer systems.
The London underground is the oldest system, having opened in 1863. It is also the largest system, with 394
kilometres of route. The second largest system, in Paris, is only about half the size of the London underground,
with 199 kilometres of route. However, it serves more people per year. While only third in terms of size, the
Tokyo system is easily the most used, with 1927 million passengers per year.
Of the three newer networks, the Washington DC underground is the most extensive, with 126 kilometres of
route, compared to only 11 kilometres and 28 kilometres for the Kyoto and Los Angeles systems. The Los
Angeles network is the newest, having opened in 2001, while the Kyoto network is the smallest and serves
only 45 million passengers per year.

The table illustrates the underground railway systems in six major cities in the field of opening date, total length
of route and annual ridership.
Overall, each of the mentioned features of six railroad systems varied considerably. The oldest system in
London had the longest route while Kyoto’s system accounted for the shortest length and the lowest passenger
statistics per year.

In 1863, London’s underground system was incorporated, having a total of 394 km in length. Also, it was
responsible for carrying an average of 775 million passengers per annum, around 15 times higher than the
corresponding figure for the latest system in Los Angeles that began operation in 2001 and covered 28 km of
route.

Likewise, the 20th century saw the establishment of the four remaining subterranean railway, of which the
system located in Tokyo, being inaugurated in 1927, served the largest number of passengers at 1927 million,
nearly doubling the second highest number recorded in Paris. This was followed by Washington DC’s subway
with 126 km in lines and 144 million travellers. Simultaneously, data for system length and ridership of Kyoto’s
system was smallest with 11 km and 45 million respectively.

The table compares the six networks in terms of their age, size and the number of people who use them each

The table provides data on the underground train operations among cities.
Overall, it is seen that the oldest train system started in London (1863), whiles the latest railway operation
started in Los Angeles (2001). Furthermore, the London train covers the longest distance for a route (394 km),
whiles Kyoto is noted for covering the shortest distance for a route (11 km). However, Tokyo recorded the
highest number of passengers using the train system per annum (1927 million), whiles Kyoto had the fewest
number of passengers recorded in a year (45 million).

Firstly, among these six (6) cities, London was the first to introduce a railway system and the only station
opened in the 1800s (1863) and also covers the longest route (394 km), but it is seen to carry the third-highest
number of passengers per annum (775). In the 1900s, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC and Kyoto all started
operating, and Los Angeles was the only city to start its operation in the 2000s.

Sample Answer:
The supplied table presents data on the underground railway system in 6 different cities including when the
railroad was introduced, route and passenger number. As is observed from the given table data, London
underground railway is the oldest among the given railways and Tokyo has the largest number of railway
passengers per year.

According to the given data, London underground railway was established in 1863 and this was the first among
the given railways systems of six different cities. It has over 390 km route with a 775 million passengers per
year. Paris underground railway was launched in 1900 and it has about 200 km route with over 11 hundred
million passenger per year. On the other hand Tokyo underground railway has the largest volume of
passengers per year which is about 2 thousand millions per year with a route of just over 150 km. Tokyo
railway was established in the year 1927. Kyoto underground railway station has the smallest route with only
11 km and has least passengers per year. Los Angeles underground rail system was established
comparatively recently ( in 2001) and has 28 km route with 50 million passengers.

The table compares the information regarding the underground railway facilities in six different countries.

Overall it is Apparent that order underground railway system covers the longest route and carry more
passengers rather than the new system.
Firstly, London underground system opened in 1863, which covered 394 km and carried 775 million
passengers. Furthermore, the system opened in 1900 in Paris and in 1927 in Tokyo; these both cover less
than 200 km long while they have more annual passengers, such as 1191 million in Paris and 927 million in
Tokyo.

Turning to the remaining categories, Kyoto and Los Angeles started in 1981 and 2001 respectively. Both have
the shortest route, around 11 and 20 km and carry less than 50 million passengers. Moreover, Washington Dc
started in 1976, and it goes for 126 km along with 144 million passengers.

The chart illustrates the details of the underground railway network in six several cities over the centuries.

Overall, it is immediately apparent from the chart that the highest number of commuters frequently used the
railway network in Tokyo, while London has the oldest railway system with the longest route.
To begin with, in 1863, the underground train network opened in London along with a 394 km route, and 775
million travellers utilized this system every year. After 27 years second railway network opened in Paris, which
has a 199 km route, and passengers used the train system with shares at 1191 million per year. Moreover,
1927 million people often used the rail network and travelled around 155 km in Tokyo, which was opened in
1927.

Furthermore, another underground railway system was established in 1976 in Washington DC, which offers a
12km distance of the route, and 144 million people consume this network every year. It is interesting to note
that, five years later, the new station opened in the city of Kyoto, which has a nominal margin of route
accounted by 11 km and 45 million locals preferred the system every year. Meanwhile, the last underground
rail system opened in Los Angeles in 2001 with a route of 28 km with 50 million commuters per year.

The data shows the details of the underground railway system in terms of date opened, kilometres of route,
And passengers per year in millions in London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles.
Overall, the first underground railway system was opened in London. On the other hand, kilometres of route
and passengers per year were minimum in Kyoto.

To begin with, the first underground railway system was opened in London in 1863 with 394 kilometres of the
route, which was the longest route, while the Kyoto underground railway system had only 11 kilometres of the
route, which was opened in 1981. The underground railway system of Paris was founded in 1900, Tokyo in
1927, Washington DC in 1976, And Los Angeles railway station found in 2001 with 199 kilometres of route,
155 kilometres, 126 kilometres and 28 kilometres of the way, respectively.
