Project Title: Streetlights in Danao

I. Executive Summary: This proposal outlines the "Liwanag sa Danao" Solar Lighting
Initiative. The goal is to install motion-sensor solar streetlights in poorly lit "puroks"
to enhance public safety, to see the roads clearly, reduce petty crime, and lower the
barangay’s monthly electricity costs.
II. Rationale: This community currently faces the following challenges: Safety
Concerns: High-risk areas remain dark at night, increasing the fear of accidents or
theft and walking late at night. Rising Costs: Traditional grid-tied streetlights add a
heavy burden to the barangay’s monthly utility budget. Sustainability: We lack eco-
friendly infrastructure that aligns with modern green energy standards.
III. solar-powered LED streetlights in Danao to prevent abduction,
accident and robbery. To reduce the barangay's electricity bill by
approximately 15–20%. To improve the "peace and order" sentiment
among residents of the community through better visibility.

V. Estimated Budget Requirements for the project: These are
estimates for a small-Demonstration plant (or Semi-works).

VI. Sustainability & Maintenance of the Barangay tanod’s to be trained
to perform basic cleaning of the streetlight solar panels every six
months to ensure maximum charging efficiency of each light.
Because the units are solar powered, there are zero regular monthly
energy costs. "A brighter street in a barangay is a safer barangay
for a community. By investing in sustainable energy today, we save
more funds for more social services in each tomorrow." How to
make this totally official: Talk to a Barangay kagawad who handles
the committee related to our project (e.g., Environment, Peace and
Order, or Youth). Request a Hearing: Ask to present this at the next
Barangay Assembly. Gather Signatures: If we have a request or a list
of people in the neighborhood who support the bright idea, attach it
to the back!
