4.1 Introductory

4.2 Activity Title: At the Ice Cream Stall
The teacher shows a picture of children waiting in line to
buy ice cream.
Look at the picture. What do you see? Yes, the children are
waiting in line at the ice cream stall!
The teacher then points to each child in the picture and
says:
“Let’s count them together… 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th… and the
last!
4.3 Analysis Guided Questions:
1. Who will get the ice cream first?
2. Who will get ice cream after him or her?
3. Who will be the last to get ice cream?
4.4 Abstraction The teacher introduces ordinal numbers from 1st to 10th.
The teacher points to the chart or picture and reads slowly:
“1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th.”
Then the teacher says:
“Let’s read them together!”
Learner’s repeat:
“1st – first, 2nd – second, 3rd – third… up to 10th – tenth.
The teacher explains:
“Ordinal numbers help us know who goes first, who goes next,
and who is last.”

4.5 Application Activity: “Find the Position"
Ten pupils are called to stand in front, forming a line.
Teacher asks: “Who is the 1st in line? Who is the 4th? Who is the
last?”
Pupils in their seats answer by pointing or naming the child.
Teacher changes the order of pupils or uses a set of objects
(books, toys, crayons) to give more practice. Learners realize that
ordinal numbers are useful in real-life situations like lining up,
taking turns, and arranging objects.
4.6 Assessment The teacher will give each students a worksheet with
pictures.
