Types of Brand Names

1. Overt names – reveal what a company does, e.g.

2. Implied names – contain recognizable words or
word parts that imply what a company does, e.g.

l Cooperative branding - the joint venture of two or
more brands into a new product or service, e.g.

l Complementary branding - the marketing of two
brands together to encourage co-consumption, e.g.
