About the Author
The Author, Dr. Anju B. Uppin is a blessed daughter of Sri BasavarajR. Uppin and Smt.
Mahadevi B. Uppin. She hails from Kalaburgi district, Karnataka. The author has
completed her B.A.M.S. graduation from Shri Hingulambika Ayurvedic Medical
College and Research Center, Kalaburgi, Karnataka. The author has received her
Postgraduation degree from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of
Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi, Karnataka. She has also completed Post Graduate
Certificate course in Panchakarma (PGCPK) from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal
University, Manipal, Karnataka. Presently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. degree from KLE
University, BelagaviKarnataka. She has worked as an assistant professor in the department of Rachana
Shareera at KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research Centre (Deemed-to-be-University) Shri
B.M.K. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi, Karnataka and has served the institution from January 2018 to
November 2022. The author has cleared KPSC exams and is now working as an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Rachana Shareera at Taranath Government Ayurvedic Medical College Ballari, Karnataka
since November 2022 to till [Link] was recognised as BoS member ofKLE University for a tenure of two
years. She was also an Editorial member of Indian Journal ofAyurveda and Integrative Medicine KLEU,
Belagavi and Associate Editor ofAyurvedic Journal ofResearch in Woman's Healthcare, Gaziabad, U.P.
So far she has to her credit, 11 article publications in International peer reviewed journals,delivered 6Guest
Lectures, presented 26 Oral Presentation and received 3 Best Paper Awards in International Conference,
attended more than 100 workshops/CME/Seminars/conferences/symposiums/webinars.

Salient Features of the Book


1. This textbook contains very specific and precise explanation of all the concepts of Rachana Shareera,
which are helpful for first year B.A.M.S. students which is prepared according to the new Syllabus
designed by NCISM.
2. An attempt is made to convince the subject matter by providing proper introduction at the beginning of
all the chapters.
3. All the theories are simplified in the form of tables, flowcharts and schematic presentations for easy
grasping and memorising.
4. Only fundamental and must to know shloka are being chosen, so that students are not burdened in
reading and understanding them.
5. Meaning of eachshloka is explained in simple English language and translation of each/individualword
ofthe shloka is written to make sure that students understand it very easily.
6. At the end of the book, few multiple choice questions are framed on every chapter to help students for
selfassessment.
